A main character who inherits something from their grandparents. Rikuo inherits the yokai blood where as Natsume inherits the Book of Friends. Both anime revolves around yokai/ayakashi and Japanese culture. Although Natsume Yuujinchou is more of heart warming and has slice of life elments, Nurarihyon no Mago is more into action and battles. But both anime potrays an unique world of ghosts and spirits. I enjoy them both.
The main characters live in an environment surrounded by demons/yokai, and by birth their status puts them at least a little above other demons (Inuyasha's father was a powerful and renown dog demon while Rikou's grandfather is the supreme commander of the Nura Clan/Lord of Pandemonium). They have a mix of human and demon blood, as Inuyasha is a half demon and Rikou is 3/4th human. As they adventure they discover that their human sides can serve as a strength and is not something to be ashamed of.
Both protagonists invest their lives in becoming stronger than their related predecessors and sometimes takes on challenges they can't handle because of their pride and stubbornness. Ultimately they learn that in order to be successful, they must place their trust on their companions and learn that having help is not a weakness. There is one main villain they seek to defeat, one that the hands of death can't seem to grasp (Naraku/Hagoromo-Gitsune).
These animes focus heavily on the coexistence and necessary teamwork between humans and demons in order to achieve a common goal. Onmyoji in Nurarihyon no Mago are like Demon Slayers (like Sango) in Inuyasha. read more
Both characters have something to do with demons and they both have powers sleeping inside them that they can use only when certain conditions are meet, in Ao no Exorcist Rin gets his powers when he draws his sword, in Nurarihyon, Rikuo can only transform at night
they are both about demons, exorcists, action however ao no exorcist is more black and white in it's demons being evil and exorcist being good (not always). With nurarihyon its more yakuza being similar to hitman reborn, but i feel like its atmosphere is more similar to ao no exorcist. if you liked nurarihyon then most likely you will enjoy ao no exorcist.
These two anime feature battles between different factions of demons with each character having their own special powers. The protagonist from each is (mostly) human, but is dragged into these conflicts through circumstance. Check out both of these for the Shounen action and the diverse cast of characters.
Both Anime has Demons and Exorcist of different type. Nurarihyon story is mostly located in Japan where are D.Gray-man story location is through out the world. The Antagonist on D.Gray-Man looks funny but suprisingly strong along with some of his followers. D.Gray-Man is definitely not to be missed.
Nurarihyon's Hagoromo Gitsune arc is eerily similar to Bleach's Soul Society arc. It starts with the a character getting kidnapped, the main character is forced to train in preparation of the inevitable invasion they need to do to get said character back. The invasion fails in case of the entrance so they need to improvise another plan to enter. With them traveling to retrieve their friend they get stronger in the process. The main character has to fight an enemy that only wishes to fight the stongest. At the end a character pulls an "Aizen" and all hell breaks loose.
one person has two identities
NnM - nura and his demon form
DNA - niwa daisuke and dark
secondly, their families are well aware of their powers and they have the same powers too.
NnM are about demons
DNA are about phantom theifs
Both anime have something to do with supernatural beings, they both eliminate demons and ghost both main characters are incarnation of the greatest evil, well one is, the other is the son of the greatest evil. Their life style is also similar, both act casual in the morning, chat to friends, school work, etc. But when night comes they both become a totally different person
both animes story line is about youkais! the stories in general are different but it's the same when it comes to youkais and a lead character who wants to protect everyone! both anime are exciting and deserve watching!!
Both of these Anime feature a male lead with semi to full slice of life style storyline dealing with the supernatural events going on around them that cause them to be different from the rest of the world. They are also dealing with their grandparents legacies.
Both about youkai and onmyouji.
Main characters have something in similar too. Like both are grandsons of a great person that need to be surpassed. ( Nurarihyon in case of Rikuo and Abe no Seimei in case of Masahiro)
A group of people who get along to varying degrees must work together to protect the capital (former in the case of Nurarihyon no Mago, current in the case of Sakura Wars) from a supernatural enemy of great proportions.
