Toujima Tanzaburou wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai

This is easily one of the most unique anime to come out this season. For anyone disappointed by the rough animation of One Punch Man Season 3, I’d say give this a try. It’s a surprisingly well-made action comedy that deserves more eyes on it.

The story follows a group of adults who still hold on to their childhood dreams of becoming Kamen Riders and fighting evil forces. It’s funny, lighthearted, and the characters are weirdly relatable. The 40-year-old main character especially feels like a fresh change from the usual teenage heroes.

The character designs are great too, especially the women. The designs are stylish, bold, and, ... yeah, kind of hot. The animation can be a bit inconsistent at times, but the action scenes look great overall. And the soundtrack? Easily one of the strongest parts. Each main character having their own theme track really amps up the hype during key moments.

Overall, I’d call this a hidden gem of the season. It’s funny, full of heart, and manages to balance absurdity with genuine emotion. If you’re looking for something fresh and different, definitely give Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider a shot.

It had all the makings of an amazing series, but it gets lost in fanservice, idiotic dialogue, and scenes that contribute nothing to the story.

The animation is mediocre, but it could be enjoyable if the story focused on what's important. It's a shame, because the idea is very good.

Despite the shortcomings, the idea is excellent, but the superficial execution is a real disappointment. The characters are like empty shells, quite silly.

A disappointing anime that I had highly anticipated this year.

Tenia todo para ser una serie increíble, pero se pierde en fanservice, dialogos idiotas y escenas que no aportan en nada a la historia.

La animacion es ... mediocre, pero se podría disfrutar sin problemas si la historia avanzara enfocada en lo importante. Una pena, porque la idea es muy buena.

A pesar de la pobreza la idea es muy buena, dando pena lo superficial que resulta la ejecucion, los personajes son como muñecos vacios bastante tontos.

Decepcionante anime que lo tenia en lo mas esperado del año.

Writing: 2/10

The introduction and background is rushed, the dialogue is immature and terribly written. I'd say maybe the only unique thing about this anime is the concept. Especially that it follows an older man. Although, Inuyashiki did it first. I think that there are some humorous parts but mostly the comedy sucks.

Animation: 5/10

The quality is okay, sometimes even good, but a lot of the proportions are weird and most of the time it doesn't look great. The actual art style is bland and looks like any other shitty anime. The ... colors are not that nice and the backgrounds are just okay.

Cinematic Quality: 3/10

Most of the shots are put together without much thought going into composition. They don't look cinematic or all that aesthetically pleasing.

Soundtrack: 1/10

At the very least they were able to do the technical bare minumum of mixing and pasting the music into the show in a professional way. The actual music itself sucks ass though. It sounds like AI generated J-rock and the lyrics are them just singing "Kamen Rider" over and over again.

Overall thoughts:

This feels like it was made for 12 year olds. It's hard for me to understand why so many anime are like this. Immature writing, unnecessary over-sexualization, shitty music. There is really not many positives about this anime.
