Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan

Torako Koshi is the epitome of perfection. With her peerless beauty, top-notch grades, and position as student council president, her popularity in school is unrivaled. However, she harbors a dark secret—she was a delinquent back in middle school—and this is something she conceals to the best of her abilities.

Unfortunately, when she meets the mysterious deer girl Noko Shikanoko, Torako's hidden shame is constantly on the precipice of being exposed due to Shikanoko's rather weird antics. To maintain the reputation she worked so hard for, Torako must go along with Shikanoko's whims, even going so far as to become president of the newly established Deer Club. All her efforts will be rewarded if she can prevent the menacing doe from accidentally blurting out damaging details about her personal history that will undoubtedly unleash Torako's greatest nightmare.

Preliminary (6/12 eps)

I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised.

My deer friend nokotan is an anime that goes very VERY far into comedy (sometimes even too far). The characters are endearing, the concept of a human deer hybrid is quiet amusing and original and everything is enhanced by quality animation (even the deer which are animated in 3D).

As the title suggests the anime is filled with deer. But when I say filled I mean FILLED. In the class, in the street and especially in the ending, there are deers EVERYWHERE. They are so present that you will sometimes start looking for them when they ... are not on screen.

If you want to have a good laugh and a good time then Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan is for you. The only small negative point I can find is that it was oversold on social networks which meant that people had high expectations for the anime. We must not forget that it remains a little comedy about a deer and that we should not expect peak cinema.

Good marketing for this anime but unfortunately not the adaptation.

The story is a mess, only 1 character stands out and the other characters are just like ordinary characters who don't have anything to remember or discuss further.

and as for the comedy? very messy, they just put in the absurdity without paying attention to where the funny/comedy lies. This is just an ordinary school anime with one deer added with absurd elements, there is only a little comedy that can be enjoyed in this anime. I can even say that there is nothing that can make you laugh or smile at the absurdity of ... this anime.

Just typing 'Pure cringe' is all the effort a review for this show deserves. TL;DR Imagine Pop Team Epic if every joke was replaced with TikTok brain rot.

(This show is bad enough that I refuse to commit names to memory)

The blond girl is basically just Meg from Family guy, there for the sole purpose of being a punchline..... I've just described every character in the show, they're not 'characters' so much as they are vehicles for the next joke, deer girl being the worst offender. This wouldn't be a problem if the jokes were something more than 'Ah, a weird thing happened, ... how random lol XD.' If you can handle 4 hours of that same non-joke repeated ad nauseam, maybe this show is for you.

The plot may as well be vegan, cause there's absolutely no stakes, which is fine for a comedy.... but that lack of plot has to be replaced with actual comedy, and this show just doesn't deliver. The animation would have been considered cookie-cutter in 2014. The OP has more effort put into it than the actual show, but even then, it's just more brain rot. It feels like this show was made to game the TikTok / YouTube Shorts algorithms more than anything else.

If you want gag anime that aren't terrible, go watch Pop Team Epic, Cromartie High School, or Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, do not waste your time with this series
