This story has a bitter sweet ending.
its about the long tale of Japanese folklore, where ayakashi (or demons) roam around the earth.
Think of a hentai inuyasha world.
The story has a sense of bitter sweet and unrequited love. Yet its fluff and warmth... if you know about Japanese folklore you will understand and sympathize with them.

the heroine is a fox spirit and she prays on human Ki to live.
When she was young she was saved from harm by this young boy and as they grew together the young boy fell in love with her.
How ever, she fears that one day her instinct will take over and pray on his life force like she normally does, so she leaves the house and locks her love for the boy's safety and disappears.
Years later, where the story takes place, she is found on a brothel working as a prostitute praying on lusty men to live.
By casualty, the young boy who saved her and once she loved suddenly appear. They recognize each other and he reclaims to her for why she disappears. She didn't want to answer at first but then they end up having a passionate night together remembering their once lost love. He tells her to come back home with him, to live together as family... to marry him. She was happy for it...
But the fear because them of different species invades her mind again... and fear of her instincts of she prays on him wakes up once more.
The next day he wakes up to find her not around.
Because once more, she left him and disappear in the horizon.
because Humans and ayakashi cannot live together.
