The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) released a statements about Tokyo's Anime and Manga Regulation Ordinance, which passed the metropolitan assembly on December 15th. AJA stated that the ordinance violates the freedom of expression and they endorses the manga publishers' opposition to the regulation.

As the management administrator of Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF), AJA wants a smooth holding of TAF 2011 but the quality of the festival will significantly decline due to the boycott by the ten manga publishers. AJA said "We are not authorized to make a decision on the cancellation of TAF, but it'll be practically impossible to hold TAF unless the situation gets improved." TAF 2011 is scheduled to be held this March.

Consequence of the boycott anime withdrawn from TAF are masked

AJA is a group of sixty anime producers such as Studio Ghibli, SUNRISE, Aniplex, Bandai Visual, GAINAX, Satelight, Toei Animation, BONES, MAD HOUSE Studios, Production I.G., Studio DEEN, Geneon, Studio Pierrot, J.C.Staff, GONZO.
