One Piece to Premier on Adult Swim's Toonami Tonight

Toonami previously announced that FUNimation's One Piece would begin airing on their anime block on May 18. Adult Swim's Toonami schedule currently lists One Piece to air tonight at 1:00am (effectively May 19). The new television run is set to start on episode 207.

Game 'BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger' to be Animated

The game "BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger" will get an anime adaptation, according to the obi strip bundled with the latest volume of the light novel "BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger vol.2 of 2" that is based on the game. No other information is available for the moment. The game was first released as an arcade game in November 2008 and it was later released on PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 platform.

Manga 'Sidonia no Kishi' to be Animated

It was announced on the cover of the latest issue of the monthly Afternoon magazine that "Sidonia no Kishi" wll get an anime adaptation. No other information is available yet. The manga is serialized in Afternoon and so far, nine volumes have been published.

OVA of TV Anime 'Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru.' Announced

A few announcements have been made regarding the TV anime "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru." that is currently being aired on TV in Japan:

1. The anime will eventually cover up to the Cultural Festival Arc in volume 6 of the light novel.

2. There will be a spin-off episode with an original story which will be broadcasted in the week after the 12th episode is released, thus making the series 13 episodes total.

3. A OVA with an original story will be made and bundled with the PlayStation Vita game "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru." which will be released summer 2013.

4. The original stories for the spin-off episode and the OVA will be written by Watari Wataru, the author of the light novel. This will be his first time writing a screenplay for TV anime.

Manga 'Nobunagun' to be Animated

It has been announced that the manga "Nobunagun" will get an anime adaptation. The manga is currently serialized in Monthly Comic Earth Star and has two volumes published so far. No other information is yet available.

Summary of the story:
Okura Shio is a highschool girl who was attacked during a school excursion. This triggered the soul of Oda Nobunaga inside her to wake up. Later she met other people with similar experiences and found that they are called "E Gene Holders" and they fight the "Evolved Invasion Species" from space under the command of the supranational organization "DOGOO".

Light Novel 'Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta' to be Animated

According to the newsletter of Gagaga Bunko, the light novel "Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta" (Love Song of a Certain Pilot) will get an anime adaptation. No more information is available yet.

The light novel is part of the "Hikuushi" (Pilot) series and has 5 volumes altogether. In fall 2011, another novel of the series, "Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku", was adapted into an anime movie of the same name. "Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta" took place in the same world but in an earlier time.

Gantz Manga to End in Two More Chapters

Gantz series creator Hiroya Oku noted in Miracle Jump Magazine that the series would be ending soon. The 24th issue of Young Jump Magazine this year, announced that the title will be ending in two more chapters.

Gantz is a hyper-violent manga that follows Kei Kurono after his death as he and others are pulled into missions by a mysterious orb. Gantz has also inspired two live-action movies and an anime series. Dark Horse publishes the manga in English.

Hiromu Arakawa is Drawing a Manga Adaptation of The Heroic Legend of Arslan

Hiromu Arakawa is drawing a manga adaption of the light novel "The Heroic Legend of Arslan" by Yoshiki Tanaka. The adaption will appear in the June issue of the magazine Bessatsu Shounen Magazine.

Hiromu Arakawa is a well-known mangaka for her works like Fullmetal Alchemist and Hero Tales. Yoshiki Tanaka is a well-know writer of light novels which include the Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan was previously adapted in a manga by Chisato Nakamura. It has also been turned into two movies and a four-part OVA series.

Kansai Club Publishing Announces Acquisition of Rights to Osamu Tezuka's The Crater

After months of discussions and contract negotiations with Tezuka Productions, Kansai Club Publishing is proud to announce the title of the first book they will be publishing in English, Osamu Tezuka's "The Crater." Kansai Club Publishing would like to bring the joy of owning one of Osamu Tezuka's most charming and powerful collections of short stories to American Tezuka aficionados and collectors of classic comics alike. Of the numerous short story collections created by the late and great "Godfather of Japanese Comics," "The Crater" stands out as the perfect blend of mystery, suspense, horror, fantasy, and comedy. This is the first time that one of Tezuka-sensei's short story collections will be published in English.

"The Crater" first appeared in Japan's "Weekly Shonen Champion" and ran from August 10, 1969 to April 1, 1970. It has since been reprinted in Japanese on numerous occasions, but this is the first time that "The Crater" will be published for English speaking audiences.
