You can just call me MyAnimeList.net's personal little spammer because that's all I really do. I'm referred as the Queen Of Spam (alongside Ceray) due to the fact I reached two-thousand, three-thousand, five-thousand, and seven-thousand spot first. (And I'm damn proud of that~!). Maid Adventures: The Sequel 00

It's been a long while since I've posted about the Maid Cafe that was held back in '07 for AnimeVegas, but this year its back and it is going to be much more improved. I was contacted in the beginning of the year by Veronica again who asked me if I was interested in being her second in command. I jumped at the chance obviously since last year was so much fun. This year we'll have a staff of eight maids with only two of them being new. We will be doing several dances, much like last year that are already confirmed (such as Hare Hare Yukai, Motteke! Sailor Fuku, and Soran Happies Para Para). At this time I'm pretty confident since I've already been Mikuru for the Hare Hare Yukai dance and I learned the Soran Happies dance on my own a long time ago. My only concern is forever the Motteke! Sailor Fuku dance, which I've got thirty seconds down now that the whole dance is out. I am very lucky since I'll be able to get my own maid costume this year considering my rank per se. I'll need to get about ninety dollars for this lovely ensemble. I decided on a more white design because we're forced to have no kimono maid dresses and also can use only black & white, I thought this would allow me to stand out. The very latest I can buy this is July, so I'm gonna have to pinch more pennies. Maid Adventure Follow-Up

I didn’t mean for this follow-up to take so long. Originally I was going to post it around a week and a half ago, but I figured AnimeVegas has yet to post their pictures, as does A Fan’s View, Anime-Planet (<--- intense hate), and various other places across the net. However, really none of them have come up yet and I don’t wanna forget that I have to do this. So, if I find more pictures than I already have, I’ll post them in this blog later on. That’s really all I can do since no one else has really messaged me their photos either (I know some of you MALians have them).

Also, please excuse the fact I had a throw away camera. Some pictures turned out excellent while others not so much. Not only that, I tried something new and scanned in the film instead of the pictures themselves. So, I experimented a bit. I’m not that good when it comes to images obviously.

(Unlike last year our Gundam costumes weren't a hit, I needed a wig, but I was too broke for one. T_T)

Ironically, in comparison to last year there was little cosplay shots I wanted. Usually I practically dive for those awesome costumes, but after seeing far too many Naruto, Bleach, Final Fantasy (I am guilty), Kingdom Hearts, and Death Note costumes it was kind of a let down. This year was definitely one of those for the kids, and I mean this in the way that half of them loved DragonBall Z and watched Akira but thought they knew everything about anime.

I guess that just gives me a bit of empowerment to try something out of the box next year. Sure, I’ve been boasting about doing a Haruhi Suzumiya cosplay next year with PA_Shadow as Kyon, Dragon_Empress as Haruhi, and myself as Mikuru; however, since we still have such a long year ahead I wanna think of other possibilities. If anything, why not Kanon? I could be Shiori, or Sayuri, or even Dragon_Empress said I would make a good Ayu, and if I got PA_Shadow to watch it, force him to be Yuuichi. I mean, how many Kanon cosplayers do you honestly see?

There are a ton of other ideas, but I honestly would like to try something different. The Gundam cosplays that PA_Shadow and I usually do aren’t too common, they happen occasionally, but aren’t as obsessive as some shows. Hell, if there is a show out there you guys wanna see cosplayed for next year then comment, tell me, pm me. I wanna know, what show is left out in the dust (might wanna look at my list though to see if I’ve seen it xP)!

Anyway, besides that there was little else I really felt the need to take pictures of. The Kanashimi Club did most of the work, which I didn’t mind too much. I would’ve liked some warnings for some of their shots, I think a few my mouth was wide open or I wasn’t looking at the camera. Ah well, either way, I did have fun this year getting to meet all of you MALians during our short time together.

Also, I think a new experience this year that I hadn’t gotten the chance last year was being apart of a photoshoot for a group cosplay. This happened for such a short amount of time on Sunday, we literally only had thirty minutes to an hour, but we did spew out a lot of poses as the Final Fantasy X-2 gang. It was nice to see something complete like that. In all honesty, I would adore one year having one of those glamour shoots (I guess you could call it) where pictures are taken on location. I guess I’ll have to drag Dragon_Empress down here for some good photos since I don’t have a digital, that and my mom would think I’m crazy posing in a park in my Lacus outfit.

Of course, probably the most fun this year was the Maid Café. I interacted more with the actual maids than the customers, but I had a lot of fun. I would love to do it next year, be able to sing and dance like that as well. I love being on stage, so it’s awesome to be in front of so many people who enjoy the same thing I do. I’m sure if we spiked up a few ideas, and brainstormed for next year we could raise even more money. I don’t think I’m suppose to tell, but it was enough to buy myself at least 4 Zunes. Also, despite a few of our tips got stolen on one day, they were still really good and allowed me to buy more anime goodness. *Nuzzles her Mikuru figure*

I guess out of everything I’m more concerned for AnimeVegas’ future. There are doubts that we won’t be seeing one next year, which does worry me; however, this is not yet set in stone. I’m quoting the man, Chris, who runs the AMV contest. He quit this year and posted this on the forums, “…That has been stated here, and on the Las Vegas Otaku boards that Anime Vegas is and has been in a serious financial jam and it's in the air whether or not there will even be a next year (as it was last year). The actual amount, however, seemingly, is. I've been quoted as low as $60,000 to as high as $200,000; the high end being far more than the total possible income from the con and the low end being just plain inexcusable….” (It should be noted that his post is now deleted, and the only reason I recovered this was because I saved it. I will not remove it unless contact with a good reason)

I’m not sure as to how true this, I’ve contacted a few people I met whom were on staff about it, but I really haven’t gotten as much information as this guy, Chris, let out. If they take a break year, then they take a break, and it might be all for the better. If they drop the protect, then I’m earnestly fretting because it took so long for Las Vegas (or the Nevada area) to get a convention anyway. It’s true, there are a lot of conventions in California and Utah even, but for people whom are under 18 like myself, it’s hard to get there or convince that ol’ mom of yours.

If not, I guess I’ll have to try and get to AnimeExpo somehow. PA_Shadow said he wouldn’t mind going, but there’s a big difference between a thirty minute drive to a four hour one. It would also depend on hotel costs and the lot. Not only that, PA_Shadow’s parents are much stricter than my own, so telling them that I’m (or we’re) shaking up with fellow MALians would be a child’s version of a death sentence.

Either way, I honestly hope we hear more of the future of AnimeVegas relatively soon. There is a long time where they don’t update their website for next year until after March or so because once pictures are posted there doesn’t seem to be any other news. I guess I’ll keep updated with Las Vegas Otaku, which is also run by Rich C. Stott. If I get the chance, I would adore being staff to help, but I know there is little I can do. I already know I have someone whom will recommend me if they step down, but these kind of offers run dry after a few months once a person is in the back of their mind. So, I’ll be hopeful, but that’s all I can be.

As I’ve stated many times, I had fun and I was entertained. I only hope PA_Shadow had just as much fun as I did. I hope Ceray, FateSkya, Rani, and Eazy did too. Along with Hakoot, YoshikoHatake, and xxkawaiirawr. I can only hope I see you guys next year along with even more people. Thank you for supporting AnimeVegas this year, for showing up, and mostly for making the effort to do so. I know it wasn’t the best year ever, but please be patient with its growth. Thank you all also for reading my Maid Adventures that spanned a decent two months. I hope you learned a lot and get to go to a convention of your own to see for yourself how fun it was. Me Singing The Mikuru Song - I BUTCHERED the song, I do NOT sing like this (seven years of choir does not lead anyone to sing this horribly). The microphone was broken before my turn and I knew if I sang in Mikuru's squeaky voice, no one would hear me. I ended up improvising all my moves, but my voice is utterly terrible. Please don’t comment about it. I gave shame to Mikuru. *Cries*

Little Things That Happened- The day where all the maid weren’t wearing shoes, and I was the greeter I actually had a guy comment on how this also treated his foot fetish. - I got tipped just because I was cute and/or beautiful. Also, once for bringing over an extra cookie.- My first shot out of AnimeVegas was with a Bowser where this submissive maid was purposely supposed to act scared.- Reportedly, I gave a panty shot at least once in my maid costume and twice in my Lenne costume cause I was attempting to sit on the floor.- Yoko Ishida is a Sailor Moon fan apparently, I know she had made one of the endings for it; however, I did know she still liked the show. She loved my Sailor Moon wallet and when she saw a Sailor Uranus walking by she had to point it out to her translator. - Wounds included bruised and scarred knees, injuries to the back of both heels, sore feet, exhaustion, and wondering if I smell (I showed after the first day!)…- Dents to my wallet included around $150, which is what I spent last year. The items were a Mikuru Action Figure, Chibi Yagami Light, Ashe Action Figure, Oversized Tamaki Plushie, Yoko Ishida CD (signed), Vol.1 Gankutsuou (signed by Johnny Yong Bosch), Vol.1 and Vol.2 of Haruhi Suzumiya (signed by Johnny Yong Bosch), and Vol.1 of the Trigun manga (signed by Johnny Yong Bosch), a black t-shirt that has attachable angel wings (which remind you so much of Ayu from Kanon), and one day lunch.- Costume damages included pokes and prodding to my Stellar costume, mostly pins to keep it to where my boobs wouldn’t fall out (x_X;;), and for my Lenne one glove began to unravel where the elastic is (this is an easy fix). - I have a new respect now for anyone who Para Paras. ^^;;

I usually don't like using generalized systems like this for blog posts, and I'm sorry that this is not my follow-up for AnimeVegas (it'll come, just waiting for AV to post their pictures) but I do have an announcement. If you all remember during the beginning of the Summer Seasion I was testing if I would have enough time to run and manage a blog. I tried this out for aorund a month or two to get the feel for it, then I had to stop because I had to move to a new server.

Well, now it's back and it's on wordpress so I've got my RSS feed. The new web address is http://bitch.faithfuldreamer.net/, I basically just moved the bitch from the back to the front. xD Anyway, I will be attempting to keep up with the Fall Season but I will be more lax than when I went through testing. I will be blogging at least one show episode by episode, but everything else will more than likely depend on if it's an episode worth talking about, etc.

We'll see how it goes and what not, this time you guys can show your support because I have a comment system. I'll admit, it did take me forever to get the hang of wordpress, and even now I have things I would like to edit... but I have no idea how. Frickin' PHP makes my head explode (like removing that RSS after every catagory); stupid widgets, they suck! Anyway, enjoy and thanks for reading~

Convention Day Three

Slight Warning: This one takes a break from the Maid Cafe. I’m at a cross to say whether I’m glad it’s over or disappointed I have to wait another year. In all honesty, I’m direly exhausted. The back of my feet are scratched from the heels, my knees are bruised from AnimeVegas’ Next Top Maid, I have deep circles under my eyes, and my stomach is constantly growling. I’m not sure it was this bad the last two years, but I think I was so busy organizing a few things even after the Maid Café was over with. Supposedly though, this was PA_Shadow and my break day, which was a wondrous thing to hear. We got to sleep in a bit, and arrived at the convention at 10 instead of 7 or so. We met my cousin, Jessica, and my friend, Becky who were cosplaying as Shuyin and Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2. I had to dress really quick into my Lenne costume because I didn’t expect them to show, but had brought it just in case. It was the only day I had arrived to the convention in normal clothes (and had hoped to remain in them, oh well). My first hour was spent on a massive photo-shoot. We found a Tidus, Lulu, and Moogle to aide us in such things. We tried a lot of different poses, so it was fun. At 11, PA_Shadow and I rushed to a panel on Gothic Lolita, and I must say I have a new found love to Sweet Lolita (though Gothic is still my favorite by far). Afterwards, I said bye to my cousin, changed, and had a life in sneakers. Oh, I had never missed tennis shoes so much in my life! Next on my agenda was finding Johnny who I had yet to get anything signed, and I had brought my collection (nothing Trigun this time!). I had seen him once in our Maid Café the previous day, we asked him to perform the Hare Hare Yukai dance with us; however, he politely refused and said he was busy. However, to dash my hopes, he was an hour and a half late to the convention. He was not at his scheduled autograph session. I had little time to fret though, and asked a friend from last year to call me if he appeared. Instead, Becky, PA_Shadow, and myself grabbed lunch as fast as physically possible. I downed what I had to make it to the MAL meeting. I ended up being ten minutes late, but on my walk there I ran into two MALians I had yet to meet. I suddenly heard my name, “Are you Jackie?!” over the Dealer’s Room, I blinked and stopped before I found two girls pointing at me and asking me again. The two were xxkawaiirawr and YoshikoHatake (? --- I spelled it right, ne?) who had been yelling in the Game Room for me at that time. Shortly after Ceray and Rani’s group had merged, so they came in a large pack. There you had it, all of us together and we got plenty of pictures.We tried to go on an epic search for Johnny together; however, it was to no avail. He had already left the room, and after a nice chatting session our group split. We basically met, got proof of the meeting, and were at a loss of what to do next. I’m sorry guys, I should’ve thought of something, but I believe we had one driver. I feel bad for Rani, Eazy, and PA_Shadow who were surrounded by girls---but I hope everyone we met had a fun time at AnimeVegas this year. Afterwards, we tied up loose ends by buying whatever we could that we wanted at a low price. I finally got some Yaoi, and get this… I can buy it despite my age because I’m staff. -____-;; I got two volumes, a black shirt with actually wings that can be taken on and off… but then, I got that call. Finally, someone had spotted Johnny! I forced PA_Shadow and Becky to the Main Events Room, where the next thing scheduled was the Closing Ceremonies we hoped to go to anyway. Johnny and a few other VAs were there for Beck, which I have yet to watch, but now I assume I need to. After they were done, they allowed anyone to come up and get autographs. I got a picture and got my first volume of Gankutsuou, second volume of Haruhi Suzumiya, and a Trigun manga I had bought earlier (okay, now my Trigun collection is ALL signed) signed by the man himself. I’m just glad I got a shot with him, over Yoko Ishida and Johnny, that’s just so major for me. Anyway, finally, the closing of AnimeVegas. It was kind of sad, but it was a hilarious close. The voice actors made a lot of jokes and there was a bit of discussion here and there. When asked about what Yoko Ishida thought about AV, she had to think of the word, but suddenly said, “Ummm…. Ehhh… Awesome!” Which gave out an assault of cheers. Prizes were given away to a few people, and I received a live-action movie called The Seven Swords (?). Anyway, we got the salute that there would be a next year, and this convention had brought around 3,500 people. It’s not that big of a convention, and it’s really only four years old, but it’s always a blast.Seeing it close, leaving it for the last day, I can say I only miss seeing such awesome and polite people. It’s such a great feeling to be able to work at something that big. Sure, it’s anime indulgence yet I would love to do that every year. Somehow, every year I seem to become more and more broke, but I can’t say I would ever not go. I mean, I now have a handful of new friends, and went through a great experience where I could learn more about my interests. I would adore being a maid every year, I hope that the Maid Café comes back next year. I might even be running it next year depending on whether or not our head maid, Veronica, departs as a staff member. I would try my hardest and tweak what I could to make it all the better. As the first year, it really was fun for the maids and I hope it was for those who visited.

Convention Day Two

Today was another day where I arrived in my Lenne costume (Final Fantasy X-2), and PA_Shadow & I arrived at around 9AM. Surprisingly, it was the same time as Veronica again. The irony is wonderfully delightful. Our morning was extremely slow, we had a few returning customers, but we sent out two maids to pass flyers to everyone in the Dealer’s Room. Ceray, Fate, and their friends arrived just in time. I sent them on a Kana Mission to pass out flyers as well, and I followed shortly after once we got flyers for Visual Kei Fangirly-ness. With seven people or so attempting to get people to the Maid Café, we proved to get results. Other than that, I greeted a lot of the day, and kept track of time. We did Rock, Paper, Scissors late due to the crowd; regardless, we made up for it. Also, we preformed the Hare Hare Yukai dance and had another group of Haruhi Suzumiya cosplayers (no Itsuki or Kyon though). After that, I changed out of my maid costume and switched back into my Lenne costume. Another girl, in the back, switched with me. So, I was able to prepare food in the back and rest my feet. Rani and Eazy came in right after Ceray & her group, so they missed each other. I chatted with them a bit, introduced PA_Shadow, and once it was 1:20, PA_Shadow made a mad dash to get good seats at the Yoko Ishida concert (which started at 2).I played Rock, Paper, Scissors one last time in my Lenne costume before finding Ceray & co had come to visit again. They had JUST missed Rani and Eazy… again. X-x Anyway, at 1:40 I left my maid duties for the day and searched for PA_Shadow. Though, it was difficult to find him in the dark, so he found me luckily. We got a good seat in the middle front, I thank him a thousand times for that! I believe Yoko-san was ten minutes late to the stage, but it gave Rich (AnimeVegas’ founder) time to entertain and work the crowd. Her first song was very beautiful, as all of them were, but there were some rude people in front of us that kept blocking our view of what was going on. Until her third song, Open Your Mind (Ah! My Goddess), did we get the chance to actually really enjoy it. Afterwards, everything else included Para Para, something I know little about myself. However, it was insanely fun and she did perform for a full hour like promised. Her vocals were superb, and though she knew little English, she had a cute accent and did a great job. If anything, we were taught the last Para Para for the finale to the remix of Fly Me To The Moon (Neon Genesis Evangelion). Other songs she preformed in-between included Just Communication (Gundam Wing), Angel’s Thesis (Neon Genesis Evangelion), and various other ones I can’t recall at the moment. ^^;;Afterwards, we rushed into the line for the autograph session. Yoko, as I said, is EXTREMELY nice. She is also very cute in person as well. When we got up to her, I was able to get my CD signed, and PA_Shadow got the back of his AnimeVegas Minion shirt signed (right in the middle where the bull size is). We also got one picture with all three of us, which I can’t wait to develop and show you~! Afterwards, we headed to the Maid Café to finish cleaning and then checked out the Dealer’s Room for anything else. That made the day for us finishing at 7. Ah, how my body is sore. There’s tomorrow as well! xD

Convention Day One

Ah! I got up late, but still woke up with enough time to get the essentials. Sadly, I forgot a change of shoes, so my feet are killing me. So, I was stuck in these ALL day. I’m use to high-heels but I was sent to the Nurse’s Office at one point to get bandages for my heels since they had dug into the back of them. They’re nice shoes, perfect for maid work even, but they are painful. Anyway, despite that, we arrived exactly the same time (7:30 AM) as the Veronica, our head maid, and moved everything from the staff room into the club house (which was our little Maid HQ). It took three trips with a dolly, but we were able to do it with the help of many of the minions running around without an order. Once that was out of the way, the room wasn’t set-up as directed, so tables and chairs had to be moved. At around nine, I believe, was when the next volunteers starting showing up. By this time, we needed to switch from clothing to our uniform, and signs & posters were maid. Not only that, the morning we strolled around and handed out flyers with anyone waiting in line. I got asked for at least ten photos within a single walk through the Dealer’s Room (and ran into Eazy and Rani). At ten we opened our doors with a “Irrashaimase,” and a bow of our heads. I was the first greeter and directed people to the register. The other girls served and played various mini-games with any guests who were interested. I got a wonderful surprise though because I know PA_Shadow had left to get to the Dealer’s Room as soon as it had opened. There was still a ton of stuff that needed to be bought, ya’ know? He came back with a Tamaki plushie with a head the size of an airplane. In all honesty, I believe I could use his head alone as a pillow. His hair is soft and he comes with a rose. Theoretically, my shopping list is complete (but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop).The day was spent playing a lot of Jan Ken Po, which is probably the funniest game I have ever played. We gave away prizes to the winner, some of which I had donated (I did indeed donate my Neon Genesis Evangelion boxset---thank you for returning it Ceray---along with my Hellsing Volume One, Ah! My Goddess Movie OST, and a few other things). We attempted to perform the Lucky Star dance, but none of us really knew it sadly. I believe Fate decided to get up and attempt the disco. Either way, the Hare Hare Yukai dance was ten times more successful with two Haruhi cosplayers at the reins! I got a thirty minutes break with Ceray, Fate, and a few of their friends where I switched to my Stellar costume once more (since I arrived in it). I was able to look around a bit, found an Ashe figure I liked that was cheap, and then returned to the Maid Café to rest my feet. PA_Shadow was gone a majority of the day due to the fact he had the Smash Tournament today (aka Super Smash Brothers). As to how he did, please ask him yourself since I can’t remember how many rounds he did in Singles or Doubles. We were able to eat lunch together, but I didn’t go to any panels. I’m a bit mad at myself now because I kinda think I missed Johnny, but I have nothing for him to sign this year. X-x Anyway, the tips were great and both pictures and hugs were common. We made over $600 dollars solely on raffle tickets (this does not include tips). At the end of the day, we were the first volunteers to show and the very last. I don’t mind this, of course, we got our hour of the Dealer’s Room where I got a Light Yagami (Death Note) Bobble Head, and a copy of Yoko Ishida’s CD so I can get it signed tomorrow. I know for a fact that I have both her concert and autograph signing off because I cannot wait~! I doubt I’ll buy anything else unless something I kinda wants gets very cheap on Monday. Ah! That reminds me! PA_Shadow, beat me to the other Mikuru figure I wanted! Since he was on the Dealer’s Floor before I was, he was able to nab it. It was the one where she’s in her maid outfit with the guns. That’s where the rest of my money was going to go, but actually, it’s probably for the best since I was able to get all this other stuff. Mikuru Black Playboy Bunny is cute, too. ^^This Maid is VERY tired, and after a shower, I’m heading to bed so I can get to the convention tomorrow at around eight. I also need dinner now that I think about it. Tomorrow, I should be cosplaying as Lenne (Final Fantasy X-2) for those who see me, but the majority of the day I will be found in the Maid Café.
