FREE Anime MOVIE FRAMES

I'm the creator/director of the North American produced anime called Panda Girls, and we are giving away free film celluloid movie frames.

http://axeandcrom.com

I'm rather proud of the work my writing partner, Crom, and I have been doing on Panda Girls, and really want to share/receive input on what we've been up to so far.

Also, this project has switched into hi-gear and has now taken up the majority of our time. So updates on the site will be plentiful. All the behind the scenes action for you otaku.

Give a budding anime director some love.

That's right my Anime babies... http://axeandcrom.com is up, and the first comic strip is posted!

The strip follows Axe & Crom as they set out to make an anime inspired film. In parralel with the comic strip, Axe & Crom are REAL people posting all the BEHIND THE SCENES action on the site.

Awesome.

Making of an Anime, The Saga - A Director's Fear

I've been officially put back on the Panda Girls anime production full-time. A pretty big deal for our North American anime industry, and I'm feeling a wee-bit overwhelmed. o.O;

We've set out to produce an anime on our shores, rather than take the production to Japan (very common for anime production) - and I dunno about you guys, but I've seen what North America considers "animation", or even "anime" - and it's not always pretty.

I literally stay awake at nights worried if Panda Girls is going to get the kind of love it deserves. The script is nearly finished, and very beautiful. A spiritual journey you don't expect from our homeland, it's something with a little more of an Asian philosophy.

So I embark, as the director of Panda Girls, to live up to the highly skilled standards set by Japan. I posted some VERY rough scratchboards (a term for sketchy storyboards), to "ease" into a regular posting schedule. If you've got "that kinda" love for anime - for its process and art - you can check out the official Panda Girls site.

A first of many posts to come - wish me luck.

Zhura.com - Online Screenwriting for Manga/Anime?

I found this sick online script/screenwriting site that has some seriously amazing web 2.0 functionality. It's fast!

Zhura.com

If you are writing scripts for your anime/manga concept, I'm thinking this is pretty incredible. Apparently it has collaboration features as well, but I have to check those out yet with Crom.

I'll be doing a more thorough post on my personal blog http://nickacs.com tomorrow. But seriously, try it out (I'm not affiliated with this in any way), I think it would be perfect for the beginner or pro.

I'll definitely be testing this out with Crom on the Panda Girls scripts/screenplay.

Axe

Panda Girls - Making of an Anime!

Hey all,

So expect some interseting posts about how writing/directing an anime is killing me. >_O' The production I'm working on right now is called Panda Girls.

Here's a concept painting of the Panda Mech:

I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out. It has some nice shapes and an interesting proportion.

Of course you can see more at the Behind the Scenes site, www.panda-girls.com.

Stay tuned for more cool stuffs!

Axe
