Time Reading Manga ~ I'm Slower

Jikan means "time" or "duration of time" in Japanese. My favorite anime that uses that word is Kodomo no Jikan. But I don't want to talk about KnJ right now, I want to talk about time. The time you need to read a manga volume, that is. My MAL profile says I spent 83.8 days reading manga. The thing is, it usually takes me 2 hours to read a manga volume (it depends on the amount of text, but 2h seems average to me). I know, I'm a very slow reader: even if there is no text, I like to spend a few extra seconds appreciating the art (after all, it takes a mangaka a huge amout of time and effort to draw one page). By now, I read 1650 volumes, so: 1650vols x 2h = 3300 h / 24h = 137,5 days. But it happens that MAL calculates it using +/-75min (1h:15m) per volume, which means about 22 seconds per page (assuming a volume has 200 pages). But it takes me 36 seconds per page, am I slow or what? What about you guys? How much time do you need to read a volume?

Codecs ~ The Magic Pack ~

Codecs are needed to play certain movies files on your computer. If you don't have the right codecs, you can't play those files. There are multiple codecs forvideo and sound. Codec packs contain a set of codecs that will allow you to play 99.9% of your movie files. Until recently I've been using a very old version (3.9.5) of K-Lite codec pack. I was having trouble with some movies:

MPG movies
Pixel/Color corruption in some MKV encodings
Could not play 10bit encodings at all
Some visual novel games couldn't play MPG movies

So, I guess I had to change the codec pack. I was reluctant to do so because I still have Windows XP 32bits, and was wondering if the new versions would work without problems with my old Windows Media Player. But I fully un-installed K-Lite anyway. Then I was wandering which pack to install:

Windows Essential Codec Pack? Not that popular, so...
K-Lite Mega 9.8.0 + update 9.8.3? Have to install update separately, so...
My choice was Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) 2013-03-02!

Yes, I went with CCCP and I am really happy with it. All files so far play with no problem at all (so far I tried various encodings of AVI, MPG, MP4, MKV, OGM, FLV formats). Now I'm finally able to play those R-15 movies :) CCCP is a pack made by anime fans for anime fans. I'd recommend CCCP to all of you ^^b Note: I did not try the other codec pack options, they might be also good. And I was not payed to do this review and I am not involved with CCCP Community.

Hating Man ~ Love is hopeless ~

Please ignore the anime relation. I'd like to insert the "The Hating Girl" manga relation, but MAL only accepts anime relations(?)... This manga, even though the title is misleading, is very good and very enjoyable ^.^ b Anyway, what I want to say or better yet, rant about, is how I am a hating man (btw, it’s completely unrelated to that manga story). And I really hate that fact - see, I really hate everything, the world and even myself! I'm really anti-social (MAX LVL). I hate people especially true in my stupid country. Because of that I'm like those anime characters that say "I'm *beep* years old, never dated, kissed or even hold hands with the opposite sex." It's sad, it really is. I don't even think I'm (that) ugly, and I’m not a fat otaku (I weight about 65kg btw). But the problem lies in two facts: - I am unapproachable (don't like to hang out, I prefer being alone) and... - I don't even take the approach because I always find faults in others. Like, she has a dog, out! She has piercings/tattoos, out! She's not my type (stupid, wears too much makeup, not my favorite style, ugly, fat, old, whatever...), out! She dated other guys, out! And so on and so on... And I hate being like this. I do! I really think I want to love and be loved by someone, but the last time I was attracted by someone was over 10 years ago. Every time I see a cute girl out there, I always think to myself a girl like that must have a boyfriend (or be married) for sure, so she’s out! I’ll rot alone in my own world. And I hate it. I also hate the world of the social people (it’s useless for me to even try to be social, because I hate it). So it's hopeless, right? Dou shiyou?

WARNING: I'm a hater and so "haters gonna hate" Why is it that recent anime shows are so bad? I mean, even though some good animes are still being made (Kemono no Souja Erin or Ookami Kakushi to name a few), in the last 5 years some really bad shows were made. Despite having gorgeous art, these bad shows have absolutely no story (oh! so boring), zero comedy (or no comic sense at all), and characters that are far from likable. I know that for every year there's a dose of bad shows, but lately the retarded shows are just too bad and there's a few too many. Just to name some of the shows I'm talking about (very sorry if you are a fan from any of these titles): Candy Boy Hidamari Sketch Mouryou no Hako Amatsuki Kaichou wa Maid-sama Highschool of the Dead GA: Art Design Class Sasameki Koto Bungaku Shoujo Kami-sama no Memo-chou Kemeko Deluxe! Akane-Iro Somaru Saka Akikan! Kanamemo Umineko no Naku Koro ni Kämpfer And what amazes me is that some of them are actually popular and get more seasons... while good shows go unnoticed.
