Since MAL doesn't support visual novels I'll just keep track of them in this blog post. So far I've mostly played non-commercial games. Shima, so cute and sweet. So sweet even Nagisa Ushio can't beat. Blonde hair and a big hat. He also lives happily as a cat. Misae loves you, but not as much as us. A cat Misae likes to touch. (lol) You made our hearts spark. You need a bigger arc!

Warning: tl, dr alert Good times I started watching anime when I was little even though I didn't know what anime was yet. I have fond memories of stuff like Samurai Pizza Cats and Alfred J Kwak. I really did love these shows for more reasons than one. Pokemon was my first anime obsession, like all the other hyperactive primary school students. Shortly thereafter, I started taping stuff on television because it was being broadcast while I was at school. So I watched Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura on VHS. I liked these shows more. (who didn't?) I must have watched more but these shows were the most memorable. Here come the torrents My first real japanese spoken/subbed anime was Love Hina and Chobits in 2004 (which I got using the fancy new bittorrent) and well... I didn't like it much, never finshed it either. That didn't stop me though. And that brings me to my first REAL anime obsession: Full Metal Alchemist. Still, being relatively new to anime I didn't know it was so popular. I patiently downloaded all the episodes, which took me several days each. (the HORROR) That's why it took me a year to watch the whole show. It was about this time I started reading webcomics like MegaTokyo, Ozy and Millie, Count Your Sheep Haruhi invades It was now 2006. I remember this very vividly. My internet connection was finally fast enough so I could download episodes within a few of hours instead of days. Along comes The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which I watched thanks to this very rant by Piro. That really was the turning point for me.

Haruhi on My Mind At about episode 4 of Haruhi I stumbled on a link (on the MegaTokyo forums to be exact) to Anime on My Mind, now called Derailed by Darry, which I still read to this very day. I really like Jason's style of posting. After watching a Haruhi episode, I was paying full attention to his corresponding post. This was also the time I slowly stopped reading webcomics. :( So, building from Jason's blog posts, I started watching more shows like Kanon 2006, quickly becoming a KyoAni fanboy. More blogs, more anime After Jason's blog, I started reading more blogs because they were in his links page. I looked around to see which one was best. I liked Random Curiosity because it had loads of pictures and was updated often. To be continued?

Let me explain how I give scores: 10) Perfect - Rewatched so much I lost count. Not a boring moment in sight. 9) Almost perfect - Something exciting and well executed. 8) Very good - Brings something new/interesting to the table. 7) Good - Well executed but nothing new. 6) Average - Nothing new but still has it's moments. 5) Less than average - Meh. 4-1) Crap - Probably a good time to drop it...
