Google Analytics Turned Off.

Well, it's a sad and happy day at the same time. The sad part is, I had to shut down my Google Analytics account with MyAnimeList. The happy part is, I had to shut it down because MAL was getting too popular (5,000,000 pageviews per month limit).

No more tracking information for some time I guess. Boo.

MAL and serious down time (more to come?)'

Yesterday, MAL saw roughly 6 hours of down time. I cried. Well, not really, but I was pretty sad. Neo has done an awesome job at giving us a dedicated server, and I'm very greatful to him. However, he lives in England, so when something goes wrong, and the server needs to be rebooted or something, it's difficult to get a hold of him seeing as how we're 8 hours apart.

So, sometime on Sunday night, I expect to be moving MAL to my servers. I'm very appreciative of Neo's help, but I think it's best if the guy in charge has access to reboot the server when needed. Can't have another 6 hours of down time in the event the server owner is asleep. =D

I'll try to make the next down time as little as possible, but hopefully the move over shouldn't last more than 24 hours for most people.

I'll post a short tutorial on how to "fix" MAL during the downtime if people desire to (change your hosts file so that you can get to the new server immediately).

I seriously spent probably about 9 hours coding this blog stuff. I know, it doesn't seem like much, but there's a ton of stuff going on in the background to make it better. :)
