Mixed Feelings
The only only reason, I couldn't quite connect with the show was my sole expectation to see something more gruesome or more emotionally traumatic than season one and movie 3 and another reason being I am too big fan of action scenes unless there is a lot more in action to make it look appealing or at-least interesting. Till the last episode I waited but I couldn't even reach level 2 emotional state (if emotions were on scale of intensity from 1 to 10). It was a disappointment after what I got to see in movie 3 perhaps, this is my own problem with action ...

A very good adult show from an objective point of view, but possibly not to everyone's taste.

This is a show that you will most probably either "drop because you can't bear to complete it but also can't deny it's good" or "find yourself captivated by it".
The main reason for this claim is that it's not your average anime show; both the art style and animation is unique and not to everyone's taste (Although with a bit of patience, you might eventually appreciate them.). Plus, the stories (It's a multi-story series) contain elements of Japanese mythology, making the plot a bit difficult to follow ...

Shangri-La Frontier is good, not great. It spends a lot of time on Sunraku, the main character, but fails to engage deeper with other characters. The story is relatively nonexistent, and the final episode of season 1, left me shaking my head. With 25 episodes to cook, you should be able to muster up something of significance in terms of plot, and character/character development. There is only one part of the season that gets that right. This is around episode 17 if I remember correctly, and then after that, we get the remainder of the season, with no plot, and ...

What went wrong?...Everything.
Absolutely everything you could think of went wrong.

The animation is bad. The writing is god awful. Most of the new characters, especially from the other universes, suck ass and a vast majority of the action is just plain uninteresting to follow. I'm already not the biggest fan of fight scenes that stretch on and on and on but some of these were dissapointing on base levels such as emotional investment of who should win and who should lose.

The first two arcs are a slog to sit through as they are just extended recaps of the movies. If you haven't watched the movies, ...

Enjoyable as you watch it, but has flaws that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The start was really good, but kinda fell off from the midpoint. At first you can't really tell if it's a serious anime or not, but after the first few episodes it's definitely on the serious side.

The story isn't really unique, but its execution definitely is (for better or worse). The characters are well written despite the clichés, but there's close to no character development on anyone's end which is one of the main issues. It comes off weird when the story itself touches on very serious topics and ...

By Far The Hardest Anime to Ever Complete for me.

Out of 100, 200, 300 animes I ever tried/watched. Texhnoloze might be the hardest and longest it ever took me while only being less than 2 seasons worth of episodes (22).

Major reasons for that could be how it is in fact hard to watch with how subtle the narrative is and how it drowns you with utter silence (literally the first episode there was no dialogue till 12 mins in) and lot of dark tone background imagery and music. The reason why pointing this out is important to me is because by far is this ...

Bucchigiri!? - Arabic themes of the power of friendship, with the aforementioned gay themes and so much more. This...could've been good, but it's a wreck.

If you have been in the AniManga industry for long, you would recognize people for their certain traits, as much as I have done throughout these years. Take for example: the young and rookie Keiichiro Saito, with 2 banger shows under his belt being both Fall shows of 2022's Bocchi the Rock! and last year's Sousou no Frieren a.k.a Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, his stardom as a rising director is quickly shining to great effect. To put this in contrast, Hiroko ...

This OVA fills the void of what viewers then expected to be a second season.

Though its tone is still the same as the anime series, it is slightly better. (The series is a 6, this one is a 7.)

*The animation is better. Take any random episode of the original series. It feels dated. But the OVA, whilst not perfect, feels like there's some positive chances.

*With two episodes, there are actually two stories per episode. This requires the storytelling to be tight so that every second counts.

*I find the stories here amusing, maybe not laugh out funny, but amusing nonetheless. The stories are as follows:

Been a while since i wrote a review so bare with me.

If you want to avoid reading it all, i STRONGLY suggest you give this anime a shot, it will not disappoint.
It has been a while since i said that an anime series is actually perfect, and i enjoyed every second of it.

Sousou no Frieren, exactly as the name suggests, we are set in an era where the demon lord has been defeated, we end up following the elf of the heroes party. Having lived for over a thousand years our elf with no particular exposure to human emotions, she has difficulty understading ...

A reborn demon lord baseline with a nice onee-shota spin.

This anime places a good amount of emphasis on the onee-shota aspect in character design. You can feel from the dialogue that the MC is meant to be this kid who is trying to show that he is capable, and the girls as onee-sans who needs to protect the MC. The anime does a good job to not over-engineer these characteristics, whilst still ensuring they don't lose sight of the dynamic throughout the story.

With that said, it is a shame that the anime seems to be 70% fantasy combat and 30% SoL, with the problem being ...

Funny but kinda badly paced. With some stuff dragging on for too long.

The story is about a young farmer boy Touka who is great at traps and really really loves thighs.
His village is attacked by a demon but the day is saved by the hero Shion. But then Shion falls into Touka's trap and dies...
Shion's body is reanimated by his necromancer companion, and Touka is placed in Shion's body. And now its up to Touka to defeat the Demon Lord and seal the Gates of Hell just like the hero did years ago.

Accompanying him on his journey are:
his childhood friend Yuna who admired the ...

Now I know it seems very weird to rate an anime like this an 8/10, but trust me, this anime is so good.
so like this show is about a guy who really wants a sister for some indecent reasons, and yes it is incredibly horny and dumb, but this show is amazing at points. there are points in the anime that are so introspective and calming right after such loud and abrasive moments that it makes you think about the true motives of every character and shows that they are real people too and not just over-emotive people with unrealistic mindsets. I love this show ...

If you don't mind slower paced anime it is actually perfect. If you are a Shounen fan I recommend you don't watch it because you will only complain that not every episode has a fight scene and that the characters lack the cheerful energy that is expressed through constant shouting of attack names.

Sousou no Frieren is fantasy anime that properly feels like a fantasy anime, with a well thought out, but still very open magic system. It doesn't contain any levelling systems or cheating skills granted by gods that make the world feel like a game. Even if some characters are born with more talent ...

Spoiler-less, TL;DR, fast, simple, and easy-to-digest review:

Peaceful, Delightful, Journey-driven

10/10

Animation? Excellent (+++)
This is by far the anime with the best animation. Fight scenes are few yet meatful (idk other words that can describe how magnificent the animation is). Well-crafted artstyle that brings in a calm yet engaging atmosphere.

Characters? Excellent (+++)
Not even a single character has been wasted in the story. Frieren, Fern, and Stark are now included in GOAT characters list so far but I have one anime one character rule only so Frieren takes the spot of my top 10 favorite characters in 2023-2024 watched animes. Many people will argue that Himmel is better, but ...

For those puzzled by the fervent praise surrounding this story, allow me to shed some light:

In recent memory, it feels as though we've been inundated with a relentless stream of cookie-cutter isekai fantasies, each one touted by fans as the pinnacle of the genre. Yet, in truth, many of these offerings lack substance, serving merely as shallow indulgences in wish-fulfillment.

So, why the acclaim for Frieren? Simply put, it defies the conventions of wish-fulfillment and power fantasy tropes that have saturated the fantasy market thanks to the non stop production and writing of isekais.

This is a traditional Fantasy story and our protagonist isn't whisked away ...

First off let me say that I enjoyed the first season and the movie quite a bit. To me though this second season was a complete let down.
The first season was filled with beautiful art, a sense of mystery and exploration, and a whole lot of charm. This season that is all replaced by episode after episode of nothing but explanations of game mechanics that make no sense, clumsy action scenes which consists mostly of the show's protagonists running away from ever single fight, and samey looking backgrounds. There is no sense of actual progression, no sense that any of the things that are happening ...

If you're a fan of the MHA and appreciate its absurdity, then this OVA is likely to appeal to you. One aspect that the main series often overlooks, due to the editorial focus on prioritizing fights over world-building, is the opportunity for meaningful character interactions and moments where we simply follow the high school students in their daily lives. This OVA provides exactly that—a brief and enjoyable episodic story that allows the characters to goof off without the weight of intense stakes constantly looming over them.

Its a simple card game episode and a blatant parody of Yugioh. Potentially they want to see if they ...

Just quickly, without any spoilers for those of you wondering if this show is good? Holy crap, it is good, trust me, going into this show, I expected mediocrity, but it is anything but. It does the overpowered iseki protag thing in a really interesting way, Cid’s goals making it so he never shows that power to the public except when he’s Shadow, which makes it so stuff never feels dull. The show’s humour hits, and when it wants to be serious, it hits, and heck, when it wants to be hype, it also hits. Well this review is only for season one, as I ...

Let's address the first point: yes, this film falls into the category of a generic superhero movie. However, amidst the current landscape where superhero narratives are being deconstructed and substituted with tales merely featuring superheroes, rather than embodying the essence of heroism, this film manages to distinguish itself more than ever. Remarkably, it has aged better than the heavily politicized content churned out by both DC and Marvel.

I would argue that what sets this film apart is its embrace of classic hero storytelling and its willingness to revel in the inherent absurdity of a world teeming with superpowered individuals and the societal shifts that accompany ...

What happens when you combine a talented director known for his expertise in crafting compelling fight scenes with a substantial budget, but neglect to develop a coherent script? the result is Ninja Kamui.

However, this anime reflects a broader trend in the industry, where some newer talents mistakenly believe that dazzling animation alone can elevate their work above established classics like Naruto and Bleach and this perspective is deeply flawed.

Anime enthusiasts are drawn to captivating narratives and character development, not just visually stunning fight sequences. We were captivated by Naruto's journey to become Hokage, Ichigo's exploration of his dual life as a soul reaper, and ...

Tired of all the fantasies, I was happy to see an anime with realistic workplace theme like this. The show also included non-trivial firefighting and rescue knowledge which I found refreshing. Several stories in the show touched me deeply.

However, the story progressed **extremely** slow: each episode had looong recaps (about 2.5-5 minutes); the same events and shots were often repeat multiple times, and every conversation was accompanied by lengthy pauses (you would rarely see people speak like that in real life!). Therefore, the show had really low information density, and didn't explain the core mystery (despite full 24 episodes!). The content probably won't even ...

This show is good in a universe where it got more time and budget. Parts were clearly cut or rushed and it feel likes several episodes are missing. There's some good ideas here though and some good moments. The detective episode was really fun and is one of the few that feels like it came out how it was meant to. I like the characters quite a bit but there's nowhere near enough time spent with them. Buildups to key moments are missing and some of the key moments which you would presume were planned have also been cut. This show has one of ...

Mato Seihei no Slave is a show that honestly surprised me, I wasn't expecting anything when I went into it but I really ended up enjoying this. A mostly female cast is always cool and I really do think the characters were great, as far as harem protagonists go Yuuki was pretty solid and the girls were so much fun to watch. Their development was great and I think the power system was interesting too. And Tenka. Oh my god Tenka. I need you please hit me up. Anyways I really lived for the "reward" scenes if I'm being honest they were kinda the highlight ...

First three episodes. The felt truly magical, especially compared to what the industry has been putting out lately. The OST, animation, and style are wonderful, and they complement the solemn beginning of the story very well.

Next two episodes. The first impression magic slowly wanes, and you get accustomed to the quality of the show's technical sides. Now you redirect your attention to the main characters and the story. Well, the former are flat, and the latter is kinda too much reminiscing and aimless wandering. But it's just started, surely it will get better. It's probably just a precursor to something grander.

Episodes 6 and 7. The ...

Ore dake Level Up na Ken was a hype journey from start to finish, I wouldn't say it was anything mindblowing but it certainly achieved what it set out to do really well. With this being presumably an introductory season I wasn't excepting the story to get crazy yet but there have certainly been some interesting aspects explored and set up for future seasons which I'm super excited for.

I really enjoyed Jinwoo as a character, it's great seeing how he thinks in certain moments and with how integral his character development is to the plot I think they did a great job exploring that. The ...

Metallic Rouge is so…last century.

Ep.1 threw out a bunch of settings while being strategically obscure. Well, if you happened to have watched a decent amount of sci-fi (or maybe just Blade Runner), the purpose would seem too explicit. Do these keywords sound familiar? Android, Asimov’s laws of robotics, similarity to human, self-awareness, freedom, government’s agent, secret organization trying to overthrow…Now try NOT to think of any fictions reading these keywords…

And wait, what about the characters? Dual female protagonist who are opposite to each other in all dimensions (super chatty vs super quiet, curly hair vs straight hair, dark skin vs light skin...). The design ...

Mashle is the perfect example of those typical type of shows that we say, turn your brain off and just watch it. However even if you just want to watch something for the sake of watching something. There is hardly anything to find that is less entertaining than this.

The story is basic and repetitive. Perhaps if you liked Harry Potter you can give this a chance, because its basically HP and One Punch Man combined. Unfortunately we haven’t seen anything special or unexpected and probably never will. Although it had a promising potential, I just can’t see any signs after watching two seasons that they’ll ...

Prevert Boyfriend + (wired) Girl with saliva super powers + Great Rommance story = Nazo no Kanojo X.
The rommance story itself is great. The animation and the character's are Simple (in a good way) other than every one is okay with licking saliva.
So for those with a saliva fetish (your wired) it's a 11/10
Those who are okay with saliva fetish it's a 8/10 (Better than most rommance Anime)
Those who don't like (wired) saliva fetish (like me) 7/10. (You get used to it after a few episodes)
And finally those who are disgusted with saliva tasting: Don't watch it.

As a fresh take on the villainess reincarnation trope, Doctor Elise started out promising. The medical drama aspect is fairly unique for anime, presenting a variety of detailed and somewhat intense medical procedures. The romance is engaging too, with plenty of time spent on the leads growing together naturally.

However, the confused time period of the setting really threw things off. Despite the rest of the setting being vaguely pre-industrial, the medical knowledge and technology is more advanced for some reason, kind of all over the place but usually something like 20th century. A show about an alternate medical history to our own would be fascinating, ...

"The Apothecary's Diaries" is a unique story when compared to other current anime. A detective/mystery medical drama with an ancient Chinese backdrop. The art and animation is well done; I particularly enjoy the clothing and attention to detail within many of the outfits. I think ultimately it was the characters that kept me coming back as I was curious to see what else they would get up to.

The main character, Maomao, is atypical and reminds me of Sunako from "The Wallflower". Quirky in a "it'd be weirder if she wasn't cute" kind of way, but Maomao is certainly more socially-aware than Sunako which ...

This definitely started out weird and confusing but after the first 3 episodes I was so drawn in I had to keep watching. This very much feels like the other mystery solving animes but with more supernatural themes to it. It's definitely got some blood and death so don't watch if you can't handle much of that. But again as each arc/mystery goes on I just want to know more and more about the main two.
Now that this season has ended (at a very open ended part of the story) I can only hope it is popular enough to eventually get another season

Tl;dr: Cheap, ridiculous, commercialized coomer shit.

I gave this series a chance and have reluctantly watched all episodes and read all manga chapters.

This is one of those series that is basically porn for porn lovers, not for anything else other than to sell sex by disguising it as a girls-love and a magical girl action show. It’s really not, nor is it anything different from the many other magical girl/fantasy ecchi series. It is one of many series that is blatant commercialized bullshit with little substance that uses yuri just to bring in the money. Before you watch it, understand that it is low budget softcore ...

This anime is so under rated. Even the rating's score bear some truth to it but please be open about it as it is one of the most best depiction on slice of life action anime in the long run.

Yes, the series been hobbled by the long cap at the start of every episode usually about 5 to 6 minutes long including the OP song. When it gets going the story is good. Plus two recap episodes at episode 12.5 and 17.5 have drive many fans crazy and abandon the series.

Do watch recap of previous seasons/movies before starting this or you'll have no clue.
If you watch it out of blue, you will be left wondering why some character behaves the way they do.
The characters seemed more real than previous seasons with actual human behavior like PTSD, fear, anxiety not some fake emotions written by an AI.
The fight sequences were great.
There was character growth in most characters and if you have seen complete recap of previous seasons and movies, you will likely relate and understand their character motivations.
The animation was good, screenplay is good.
The story ends at an interesting point.
Overall a good continuation of previous story.

After having watched Wolf Children years ago, I'd never really thought about seeking out another Hosoda film. It was a nice little movie, but felt kinda safe and stiff in its approach. Today I decided why not try out Summer Wars, just give it a shot and see what happens! What I got was the exact opposite of my expectation. I was severely mistaken for thinking Hosoda was a cautious director, as this movie ended up being a flawed, yet completely unique experience.

For one, I respect the hell out of this movie. It delves into the philosophy of the family unit, importance of human interaction, ...

Boasting an expressive futuristic style with interesting in-depth non-linear storytelling, Metallic Rogue showed promise for an anime original, despite unfortunately not being able to follow through on its initial potential. The intentionally vague writing left me finding myself focusing more on understanding what was happening, rather than connecting with the person in front of me. This disconnect made it difficult to emotionally attach to the characters, resulting in a muddled understanding of character motivations. Let me say the story is not poorly written. However, their approach to conveying a complex amount of information in a limited time to the audience left much to be desired.

I could not recommend this movie any more. Man do I think this movie is good, but just to be clear, this is not your typical romance storyline. In my opinion, I would put it more under the drama genre vs romance. I know there are hints of romance here, but nothing that truly blossomed and came into fruition. However on the drama side I thought this had a fantastic plot that was beautifully displayed and executed. This was a very dramatic movie that took you on a ride with concepts of bullying, self-harm, redemption, and forgiveness. Definitely a masterpiece. For a drama, definitely a ...

My favorite part of Jojos. Great story and great characters.

The story is really great. Interesting and all. I wouldn't say this is the main part of what makes this part so great. I think what makes the story better than other Jojo's parts is it takes away what I dislike overall about Jojo's. It actually feels like it has a story running through the entire Part and remembers that story in most if not every episode.

But the characters are what makes this part so awesome. Each of them getting there time to shine. Whether it's in fights or emotional moments, everyone gets some time ...

A miraculous girl,

Ah, what a nice main character to write a story about... As expected, Studio Ghibli made another masterpiece that shines like a star.

This story made me feel like, wow, how can they make such a good and long storyline? The film itself is 2 hours but it feels like a season of anime actually. And beside being long, it's fascinating... Princess Kaguya's life is just like the princesses in our child stories. The one who seeks for true love and honesty, not wealth and power. Princess meets a bunch of noble people, who just cares about valuable things in this world. But the ...

Honestly, I enjoyed this anime more than I expected to. It's just a nice relaxing anime to casually watch, each conflict is episodic and usually gets revolved within an episode or 2, charming characters, and visually looks lovely. Reminds me of a simpler time in life where my problems weren't that big and life was a lot more peaceful. There's something fluid about the way they animated shows in the late 90s and early 2000s, makes the characters feel more real. God is it just ok. The slice of life aspect to a battle anime is just so mid. There is little to no plot between every episode as well. I would go as far to say bad if it weren't for the characters. They aren't the best in the entire show, but they're good and add flavor to what would otherwise be a very bland experience.

First of all and probably the most important thing to say. School Days is not your typical romance anime.
It starts out pretty innocent and cliche but quickly turns into a sort of... "darker themed" romance in lack of a better description before just going balls to the wall crazy in the end.

To quickly summarize. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, they become a couple, other girls like boy, boy has... "commitment issues"... and the ending is something not to be spoiled but experienced, cause again, they went balls to the wall with that one
