It relates to girls who have been bullied for their appearance and the affects it can have on someone. It's amazing how one name can change a girl forever. okay okay, this anime isn't all blah blah blah lovely lovey girly issues. It's actually much more than that. more comedy than anything. ( the manga has more, but overall I was rather pleased with this anime)
I know the art is a little frustrating, but If you're willing to look past the strange art than you're in for a great anime. I think the anime is drawn like this to capture sunako's true beauty.
