Now I’ve decided to review a recap episode as best I can but I make no promises. I usually despise recap episodes as they don’t really serve a purose, I mean I am watching the show so why would I need a recap of what I just saw and more importantly, why on Earth would a series like Black Butler need a recap and even more puzzling, why for the first half of it?
Now this recap concentrated on reintroducing us to the plot we’ve been faithfully following so far and shows us some of the most important events of the first half of the series and while it does so in a decent enough manner it is lacking in presentation. Personally I hoped that the recap would include new footage among its re-runed material as many often do but it really had nothing new and was nothing special.
To be perfectly honest, this recap was perfectly unnecessary and just there, it exists but no one knows why. With that said I did rate it as something decent enough because, even though it is re-runed material, the material was good enough, I suggest it to people who want to start Black Butler half way through though I have no idea why anyone would want to do that.
