Love Hina set up most of the traditional comedy romance elements. Ken Akamatsu (the director) did a great job of popularizing a set up that is still looked upon to this day. From over the top moments of comedy, to the heart racing moments of romance, you will be on the edge of your seat the entire time. But be warned that some of the elements he popularized (the tsundere, the girl from the main character's childhood) are better implemented in other anime. The characters never really break out of their two dimensions throughout this anime. There isn't a lot of revelation to who they are that you couldn't see in advance. Because of this, the show ends up being predictable at times. Although the story and art are fair, they never break out of a shell either. In retrospect, this show meets the expectations of an audience member, but doesn't go any further. I recommend you watch it, but there are other anime that I feel are better.
