This show sounded awesome from a fanservice perspective and a comedic one and I was right. Indeed you should only watch this show if sex related jokes are your thing, but unlike what many may think its actually far less fanservicy than you'd expect, in short it's far from being Kanokon.
Opening sequence: 7/10
Ending sequence: 7/10
My Age Rating: 12: The show is very sexual in nature.
First of all, the premise of the show: a girl who wants to lose her virginity and bang 100 guys. From that you get where the show is going pretty easily. So of course awkward situations and fanservice are to be expected and they indeed show up. Though the fanservice is often made with comedic purposes rather than simply being thrown in for the heck of it. The awkward situations are also well present and exploited to their fullest. As a matter of fact the fanservice was rather light during the series compared to more extreme shows, right up until the last two episodes that is.
The show also managed to deal, in some light way, with the perspective of a girl on her first time. While Yamada is fully willing to do it the series still portrayed how hesitant and even scary the entire concept can be for a girl. While that was mostly for comedic purposes it did prevent the show from becoming a porn fest where they do it all the time and did provide some dept, however small, to it as well.
The characters were surprisingly well done, usually fanservice shows don't pay that much attention to them but they actually are well presented, have believable relationships as well as realistic emotions, of course that statement excludes the main character. Yamada was there to be a girl who wants to do 100 guys so of course her character is off the charts, but she basically makes the show too. Then you have her target, Kosuda, he's the loser the main character is interested in but unlike your average fanservice show this didn't turn into a huge harem where everyone is fighting for him, the other characters actually have their own relationships. Then there's Yamada's rival, the rich and popular Kyoka; she's deeply in love with her brother and never accepted being beaten by Yamada in a contest so she wants to steal her boyfriend from her. The cast is lively and large, their all very interesting too, you'll get a laugh out of some of the minor characters in the show.
The show's dub, yes I'll talk about that since this time it does matter. The dub is, from what I've read before watching the show, cruder or "dirtier" than the Japanese version. Considering how the Japanese tend to lay down on swear words and the such this time it actually suits the show in my opinion. If you want the version that's intact dialogue wise you'll have to go with the Japanese dub but the English dub was superb and the alterations, while not enormous, suited the tone of the show so both are recommended.
The last two episodes: Unlike the rest of the show these episodes were more.......let's just say they ranked higher on the Kanokon meter. They were heavier in their fanservice and given the context it wasn't a stretch either.
Final words, the show is hilarious, whether you just want a good laugh or you're seeking some good fanservice I recommend this title. It made me laugh and the characters were interesting enough to keep me entertained even when the focus wasn't fanservice or comedy.
