This review is going to be short as is this OVA. Basically they show you the formation of the group and you get to know them better. It's a good watch if you plan to continue on to the series otherwise it's just not worth it.
The OVA doesn't reveal much about the enemy you'll see later on and what they do show you feels incredibly cheezy. So story wise you only get the groundwork but for a short OVA that's to be expected. What they will do is concentrate heavily on the characters as well as their plays (yes this band of mecha wielding fighters also do theater). It's also not the series to go to if you expect action or if you really like mechas, you'll see very little of both.
So my finale assessment is pretty much what I told you, if you watch this you should probably continue on to the series as this is basically the introduction of everything.
