With all of the flashy colors and smooth animation commonplace in modern anime it's hard not to see why most classic anime have flown under the radar. However if you like classic anime Golden Boy will not disappoint you. Golden boy or Wandering Student is a simple story about a 25 year old with a high sex drive going around doing odd jobs. This anime is a 6 episode OVA series,so over the span of a long movie you can watch this funny,enjoyable, classic anime. What puts Golden Boy over the edge is the fact that the time when this thing was a time where you can really use Ecchi and fanservice repeatedly and get away with it. Don't be fooled, Golden Boy is not brain dead by any means. The main character is excellent, he's this student of life and he may sound stupid but I thought the hilarious part about this was that in actuality he's a genius. The comedy is also done very well too despite it using crude humor and fanservice. The main character monopolizes and improves the comedy drastically. The art isn't too bad and still holds up by today's standards;the facial expressions in particular were what really impressed me. On a final note I would recommend watching this in dub, mainly because Kentaro's voice is just hilarious. In conclusion Golden Boy is a very funny easily re watchable OVA that is a must for fans of ecchi or classic animes.
