I thought this sequel was great! Sure the story and romance in the worlds most slowly progressing relationship does not reach amazing new heights but that does not mean that the anime is not highly enjoyable. For starters one of the perks of Ren is that it continues with the same feel and humorous style as the first series, if you enjoyed the first one then it's pretty probable you'll enjoy this.
This series also adds to the romance and emotion by introducing us to a new character, Shichimiya (AKA the pink haired girl from the picture). I really liked this girl! Being a fan of the first series I would've probably liked this second one anyway but Shichimiya was a seriously huge part of what made Ren so enjoyable and emotional. I'm not going to mention any spoilers but we also get some more insight into the past of some of the main cast too which is always fun.
Overall I highly recommend watching Ren, maybe you won't enjoy it as much as the first series or maybe you'll enjoy it more. Either way it's highly likely you'll be a fan of Ren and be glad you watched it!
