Well this is my first review in a while as well as watching an anime in pretty much 1-2 sittings. I haven't watched anime in a while but the introduction to this series was very gripping and interesting up until later into the show... but we'll talk about that later in review

Story:
So the premise of this story begins with a boy named Renton who has joined the group of his dreams the "GekkoState", and how he interacts with everyone on the ship especially a girl named Eureka.

Plot:7
The premise of this anime was a real rollercoaster ride for me. At first I really enjoyed it up until like episode 17. The first few episodes were filled with a little bit of comedy, action, and romance After that things got away from action and/or romance and was just about Renton finding his own path. Then it got good again with the romance and action. But then it became confusing and slightly ok towards the end of the series. The show was littered with random points of confusing explaining and things that did NOTHING to progresss the plot. I also didn't like how it like 30 eps. to explain something and when it did it was like a mouthful. I literally had to keep writing notes about the series so I wouldn't forget certain parts of it. Don't get discouraged though, it's still a pretty good series in my book, but a letdown towards the early middle and and ending of the story. Also, the story is like Black Lagoon for like 15 eps because the plot literally goes nowhere, the team is literally just going around and doing jobs to get money. You only really know the team's true objective like three fourths of the way into the series. Which bothered me a ton because after a while I'm like "Why exactly am I watching this series?"

Art: 8
It was from 2005-2007 and it was pretty solid and consistent. Tell me why Eureka lookin like Gaara after the mining incident XD

Sound: 8 Soundtrack was pretty good, the background music was pretty average though. The tracks are reused for the anime scenes but they do their job. A romantic scene comes on, and romantic music play. Just that simple. I will say that the majority of openings and ending were pretty enjoyable.

Characters: 7
The main characters in the anime were very realistic. They weren't static and often had multiple layers to their personalities. Although what I couldn't get over was the fact that when it seemed like they had gotten over a problem, they would go back to being friggin childish and make the same damn mistake. There were some extremely forced emotional shifts here and their but it wasn't too bad. The other characters were often one dimensional and didn't have much going for them. Which is ok,a series always needs balance. Although I would've liked a little more insight on the backgrounds of the characters who were aboard the Gekko.

Enjoyment:7.5-8
As I said before, watching this anime was a rollercoaster ride, in the begging I would've given this anime a 9.5 for enjoyment. the middle probably 7, and the end like a 6. Whenever it went back to it being really based on teamwork, mechas, and romance was when i enjoyed it most. All in all, I think that there were barely more nejoyable moments that not very enjoyable ones so. I give it a 7.5-8

Overall: 7.5-8
I think Eureka Seven was a pretty well put together anime. They knew how to draw your attention but after that, they didn't really know how to keep it. The show leaves you with a lot of how?'s, what?'s, and why?'s. While some of those questions were answered much later in the series, most of them were just left there. I was very confused only towards the end of the series with what exactly was going on. The show does a pretty good job on showing how adolescense can affect teenagers and "adults". The romantic scenes were nicely executed (except for most of the ones involving Holland) The artstyle was pretty consistent while the animation is pretty much the same but is better within the last few episodes. The soundtrack for the scenes were generic but did their jobs. The Openings and Endings were pretty good. Characters were pretty life like due to the fact of actually growth within the characters themselves. I enjoyed this series and it was a blast to get that rush of watching something new and amazing again. Although it had a lot of wasted potential with where the series could've gone, it's still a show that's fun to watch!
