"Kare" First Love

I actually made the mistake of trying to read both at the same time, and ended up getting them confused. Mars is far darker than Kare First Love and also 5 volumes longer. Both focus on shy, artistically-inclined girls (Karin wih music, Kira with art) who, despite their best efforts, fall for "bad boy" types (though Kiriya is A LOT tamer than Rei). Kare is a lot lighter, but Mars is very realistic. On another note, Mars volumes are kind of hard to find. (I had to stop the series because volumes are on backorder at the local bookstore

It's the same story, a girl meets with a guy altoght she didn't care about guys too much but she fallen in love with him.

Basically Kare First Love is like a attempt to copy Mars that may work for some but does not compare to Mars. It has the same plot line of a good girl meets a bad boy and somehow they fall in love but they have struggles they must overcome. In both the boys are interested in sex and wish to have sex with their love interest but choose to wait because they truly love the girl and she does not want to have sex for whatever reason. These two have soo much in common, the charactors are basicaly the same and it has a overall same feel to it, they are both enjoyable and present the same situations at times .
