I'll go against the tips and recommend only season 2 of RV as simular(and the second half of it). As the last ~15 chapters of R+V have a really simular feel as Tokyo Ghoul in terms of MC development(and appearence change, lol)
You get the same:
- monsters blending into human society (though in TG humans know about them)
- monster/ghoul organisation trying to overturn order
- wimpy MC becomes more and more badass (as turning into monster himself)
If you liked the change in R+V after FairyTail arc (into more dark and psychological). Then you'll probably like Tokyo Ghoul. The opposite is not nesessary true(too much fanservice
