I've been a long time fan of Akuma to Love Song. In Akuma, the main character is outwardly very cold and is bluntly honest, though, inwardly, she is truly trying to help people. She struggles to show affection and to become closer to others. The people close to her (the two main male characters) begin to understand her and the become good friends as the rest of the class begins to accept her.
