Chihayafuru is very similar to Nana.
• Both anime are of the genre josei
• Chihaya is very similar to Nana Komatsu and Taichi looks like Shouji
• Both anime have the same feelings
• Complicated love
Chihayafuru and Nana are Josei series (yes, Nana IS Josei) which contain strong female leads. Despite being from different genres, (Chihayafuru is sport and Nana is music)Chihaya Ayase from Chihayafuru and Nana Osaki from Nana are both determined to achieve goals set for themselves from since a young age. Even with challenging situations and relationships in their lives, they push forward.
Overall, the two anime portray the feelings of their respective characters perfectly, whether it's happiness, vulnerability or sadness.
If you like general atmosphere of any of those animes you will like the other one. Deep thoughts about romantic relationship, life and what one is striving to be in life are the questions that are popping up in my head after watching those animes.
Also, both are real and relatable - greatly presenting all human emotions (love, jealousy, happiness etc.). If you want emotional anime with great story and characters please watch these two.
While Chihayafuru is more cheerful (and feel good anime) one Nana is more dark/realistic as the focus is on young adults 20years old and struggles of adult life.
