They are both about a boy who suddenly gets thrown into a world of battles and big mecha's. Althought in Isekai the protagonist actually gets thrown into another world.
From here the series split appart as Kurogane focuses on mecha's and battles Isekai is more widly spread and shows alot of different stuff. For example it has more harem, shows how the protagonist manages to fit into his role in the new world and have lots of happenings that has no conection to mecha what so ever.
But still, if you like kurogane you probably wont regret seeing Isekai and the other way around.
At least I didn't.
