Both protagonist met a mysterious girl who give them power of the king and both of them are resistance fighting the government suppression and tyranny both settings is like a ghetto parts of Japan.when the series progresses both anime begun to realize they're fighting to much bigger threat a threat that they're fighting to people who wants to change the world for themselves... well the difference is that.. Guilty Crown has a FAG!!! and Cowardly King(Shou) and Code Geass has a manly genius king(Lelouch)
Guilty Crown (GC) and Code Geass (CG) are similar in that both shows' (male) protagonists received a mysterious power referred as the "power of the king" toward the start of the shows. These shows also have a lot of mecha action, as people fight each other by controlling robots in one way or another.
There are strong distinctions, however. Whereas Code Geass is a show that features a protagonist who is confident, charismatic, and devious, Guilty Crown's is more mellow, indecisive. Many people say that Guilty Crown (GC) is simply a ripoff of Code Geass (CG), however i think GC brings enough to the table in order to make it an adequate anime by itself. GC may have a similar setting/atmosphere to that of CG, but other than that I do not feel that GC is a ripoff at all. Anyway, for anyone who enjoyed CG, i recommend that you atleast give GC a try. The music is amazing, and there is plenty of action/excitement to keep you interested and wanting more. While the characters are not as developed/ interesting as in CG, in the end

I can't find another anime similar to Geass R2 than Guilty Crown and vice versa. Though these including Geass 1st Season, but Geass R2 have a lot more similarity to Guilty Crown than its prequel:
+ Both Revolve around Rebellion of organization to government
+ Both villain try to create utopia out of present world
+ Both Male MC are high school students and given superior ability by Female MC
+ There are a lot of similar role of characters around MC between these two: Idol Lover, Rival, School Lover, Mecha Pilot Nakama, School Accomplices, Seitokai, and more of this list can go on

The two shows are very similar in plot, central focus, and most of all tone and feeling. Both shows are about a rebellion group that has mechas with a protagonist using a supernatural power, and both shows have a tone that emphasizes the tragedy of war, both in loss of life and the irreversible change in those who fight in it.
Both are mecha anime that is not afraid to kill off characters
Both MCs are just a normal high school student until a "mysterious" girl showed up
Both MCs are members of a terrorist/resistance group that rebels against the government
