Both are neo-noir mystery anime dealing with erotic grotesque visuals, supernatural powers, and just give out the same vibe in general.
Both are impressive adult anime full of sex, violence, action, mystery, blood, gore, and strong, grotesque scenes, in which the protagonists are either supernatural entities or have super powers.

Sexual, twisting, dark, supernatural animes abound. After watching Mnemosyne, I couldn't help but see the similarities in the two series, from theme to art and character design to pacing, I truly saw these animes as very similar cousins to each other.
If you liked Mnemosyne for more than just the Yuri, Speed Grapher is going to be right up your alley with similar plot progression; a better, more developed, more dynamic story; and Characters that seem much more real.
