The stakes are high! At any moment any character in the cast can and will drop dead. Both of these shows involve characters being placed in situations where their life is constantly on the line. In Akame ga Kill! characters fight each other with weapons called Imperial Arms (or Teigu) and the result of these battles is often fatal. In Danganronpa the characters must kill another character in order to "graduate" while surviving the verdict of a class trial. If you're into shows where characters are constantly in danger then either one of these will do for you.

Survival of the fittest. Brutal scenes everywhere. The characters should kill the people around them so that they could survive. Killing is what makes these both anime very similar. In contrast, Danganronpa quite provide an explanation for every killing and is somewhat logical but in Akame, they often just kill and kill and kill to overthrow the corrupt empire. If you enjoy watching bloody anime, then these two will never fail you.

Whenever Seryuu go crazy, her face reminded me of those guilty murderers in Danganronpa. These two focus on killing. If killings and blood suits your taste, these are your cups of tea; that I'm sure you'll love to drink. :)

You like death? If so you'll probably like those two shows. Akame ga Kill and Danganronpa are both anime that focus less on character development and having a great story, but more on simple shock factor. Still, the main cast is very diverse and original, tho they do contain some bold cliches some times. The two do not hesitate to show some light hearted scenes by times so it's not only crude action. Note that the source material of both shows are way better and do not contain most of the flaws I cited so if you want to get in one of those   read more
