Both are Josei and have a love polygon where almost everyone´s love is unrequited. Both give you the same feeling and have excellent voice actors and soundtrack.
Both are about a group of students pursuing their hobbies in the fine arts. Sakamichi is about jazz music, while Honey and Clover is about art. Both have plenty of drama, romance, and humor.

Although music is not a major theme in Honey and Clover, both series contain the romance geometry where feelings are scattered between different friends.
Additionally, both series has similar art style reflecting a josei like feeling. And of course, expect a lot of drama in both series as the episodes progresses. There is also comedy present in both series.
Both anime series' art also natural and contains realism in its finest form.
