Aldnoah Zero is very similar in it's style to Code Geass but with really amazing music and more fluid animations. Both feature underdog sides fighting against a superior enemy with better tech, more resources, and more numbers at its disposal. The main characters both always enter battle with a plan though in Aldnoah, much of the plan is finding out the enemy's weakness and then exploiting it, though there is some element of being an extra couple of steps ahead. The main character in Aldnoah seems more diminutive and adaptive but with less insane foresight than Lelouch.

Both: There's a student in a prestigious academy and looks bored of his life, and there might be a war with some invaders. Then there's a princess who's intent on peaceful relations but her country is full of racist bastards who shit on Elevens/Terrans except for one dude (who's an eleven/terran aka Suzaku). Both are centered around terrorists and political plots. And lol the first target for the Vers (Britannian) empire is NIPPON. The first episode of Aldnoah also has the main students witness a terrorist plot, just like ep.1 of Geass. There's tons of imperialism and many, many characters who look down on Terrans for   read more

Code Geass and Aldnoah Zero deals with warfare, politics, and a conflict between nations. The main characters gets involved with the conflict after one faithful day that changes their lives forever. The main male protagonist from both series has an intellectual mind and is able to formulate strategies with precision. In his role, he acts as an tactician and leader for his comrades in the war for survival. The main characters' similarities are also somewhat alike with their stoic attitudes towards certain situations. There is a certain theme of fate as a major female character gets herself involved in the war. Not only that but she   read more

Besides the obvious (both being mecha anime), there is something about the way each situation plays out that is similar between the 2 anime. On one side we have Lelouch, who is playing the game of real life chess, on the other is Inaho who is fighting using different strategies that have a similar feel to how Lelouch does things.

Lelouch and Inaho both use tactics instead of sheer power to defeat their seemingly overpowering enemies, even though Lelouch happens to have a useful superpower. Both have great animation, soundtracks, and unexpected plot twists.

Aldnoah.Zero and Code Geass both revolve around politics, war, robots, and powers. A.Z has interplanetary politics while CG is international. There is a lot of tension between the elitist group (Brittanian Empire; Vers Empire/Martians) and the “lower class” group (Elevens/Japanese; Terrans). Robots are the primary means of fighting the enemy in both series, though it is much more common in CG than A.Z. Both are technically alternate history as well, but that applies mostly to CG, because the world of A.Z is more similar to the world today. The supernatural powers are also present in both shows, though is much more prominent CG than A.Z.   read more

Both have that one genius that can outsmart anyone, and focus on tactical battlefield development without focusing too much on an overpowered mech or superpower. Also questions morality as well. Altogether, they are two of the finest anime that I've ever watched.

Code Geass is 'The' Best comparison to Aldnoah.Zero in terms of similarity - and here's why: First off, for Code Geass there's two groups: Japan (renamed Area 11), who are basically the good guys, and the Holy Britannian Empire, the aggressors. During the invasion of Japan by Britannia (prologue), several innocent people were killed like nothing. This is similar to how there is Earth, the good group, and Mars, the aggressor - who seek war against Earth in Aldnoah.Zero; in the first episode, the Martians invade Earth, destroy entire cities and hundreds of thousands are killed like nothing in a matter of seconds, literally. Then, there are the Princesses   read more

Both anime belong in the 'mecha' genre and the MCs are intelligent strategists who defeat their enemies through tactics rather than physical strength. Each involve a war between a powerful empire (Vers/Britannia) and a less powerful one (Terrans/Elevens), as well as a princess who aims to create peace.

It has the Same type of setting and Action type fighting (Mecha) The main characters on each of these are Cool, Calm & Collected. The Action and Suspense on both these anime are intense and there is never a dull moment with these MC's, The story's are unique in there on way. The character development between the two MC's are quite similar also. And if you enjoy a twist you will enjoy them both.

It is both action based anime... Its also full of masterplan that gets you so excited even if you dont understand the plan Both main character from both anime is:- - so tricky and usually the mastermind behind the masterplan - gets you excited just by watching without even understanding it Both anime is full of up and down... while Code Geass has a sad and heartbreaking scene Aldnoah also has a sad but ( to me) it is more tragic than Code Geass.. Both anime has a mecha genre

If you've liked Code Geass and animes with similar theme, well, I'm also sure that you would grow to love Aldnoah Zero too. Just like Code Geass, Aldnoah Zero also have action, romance and a bit of drama.

Whilst their respective stories differ immensely, the core premise of both Aldnoah.Zero and Code Geass is the same - two protagonists with differing ideals clashing over and over again. Both titles also feature heavy mech-fighting based on strategy. If you are a fan of giant mech battles, and clashing of different ideals, both series are worth a watch.

Aldnoah is extremely similar to Code Geass in the sense of plot and characters. While the conflicts differ, many of the politics and characters are parallel. Britannia can be compared to the newer equivalent of Vers as both have mechs (Knightmares and Cataphracts, respectively). They both have the upper hand over the underdog Japanese(Elevens) and Terrans/Earthlings. Lelouch and Inaho are brilliant young minds who fight against the oppresors in efforts to bring peace and political equality. At the same time, we have Suzaku and Slaine, who initally appear to be kind hearted and justified souls. Suzaku and Slaine are good people at heart but don't think   read more

Aldnoah.Zero seems to take some significant inspiration from Code Geass. The politics are quite similar; they feature a split between two factions of humanity (with great disparagement in power between the two), a royal family, a disdain from the 'ruling' class towards the lower class, etc. The characters and character dynamics bare some striking similarities too, particularly Euphemia & Asseylum and Slaine & Suzaku. Both also feature mechas and mecha battles fairly predominantly. In the world's strangest parallel, there's also eventually a character who pilots a mecha with a nickname of 'Orange' and a cybernetic eye in both.

Both have politics with two nations (Britan vs Japan/Earth vs Mars) and both contain a main character that is a genius who seems to be unstoppable. Both are great!

Both involve the use of mechas. The MCs are incredibly intelligent. Both dabble in the romance aspect as well. Though, Code Geass's MC is more of an Anti-Hero unlike Aldnoah's protagonist.

Both Aldnoah.Zero and Code Geass connect primarily mechs. Both series talk about the war between two countries in which these machines are used. In addition, the anime is joined by the main characters - they are both strategists who use their unusual intellect to ensure their victory. There is also a similarity between the nemesis of the main characters - Slaine Troyard is guided by similar motivations motivating his actions as Suzaku Kururugi.

First of all I want to say that Aldnoah.Zero is not as good as Code Gueass but rather a “lower quality version”. But that doesn’t mean is a bad anime, you can still enjoy it. Both main characters have this insane mind that allows them to pre-build scenarios and outcomes in their minds. They share the mechas as well. Both are series are about over throwing a much powerful regime.

Both main characters are somewhat similar (smart). Both are mecha-anime with a world-war as main plot. I think if you liked aldnoah zero you will most likely like code geass, mabye not the other way around though.
