Both anime leverage their supernatural elements to create unique dramatic situations/character relations that wouldn't normally be possible. Both focus on romantic drama and love polygons with adolescent characters.

Kokoro Connect and Nagi no Asukara both contain supernatural/fantasy elements in a setting where there is also romance, drama, and relationships. Both series takes place in a school life setting. They deal with interpersonal relationships with certain degrees of morals, value, and integrity. The main male character in both series is involved with a love triangle. Among other things, there are also human lessons to be taught and learned for the characters. Both series also takes an approach at slice of life on occasions.

Friends figuring out their feelings for each other and those around them, all while having a looming threat/danger to deal with at the same time. Both series are very dramatic, and many things happen in very short time-spans all at once, making the stories seem somewhat hard to believe. But nonetheless, the drama does keep you constantly questioning what will happen next, and keeps the stories fresh. If you liked one, give the other a try; you'll probably enjoy it!

Both series focus on the character's everyday life with a slight supernatural twist. They focus on a group of main characters, with girls and guys mixed. They both have some cute couples, and the way they interact is similar. Both have the same amazing art style, and the sound is also similar. Both of these anime just give a similar, heart-warming feeling, and both are certainly worth watching.

Both anime focus on a tightly-knit group of friends who go through not-so-average experiences and attain greater mutual understanding and stronger bonds through various intense ordeals. Very, very good anime.

Even though their settings are way different, both series have this core theme of each individual getting to know each other better. They all go through hardships and start to understand each others feelings. Both series have great artwork and soundtrack.

If you like Slice of Life, Romance, and a touch of Fantasy, this series is for you! Nagi no Asukara and Kokoro Connect both have school settings which show the everyday lives of the main characters, until something happens. The fantasy element in Nagi no Asukara is the whole people living in the sea stuff, and in Kokoro Connect, the body switching.
