Yeah, it's really rare. I'm also surprised how underrated this anime is. I agree, this anime really warms your heart, which is why I also liked it. I usually watch slice of life when I'm tired of action, as most action anime are all depressing, deaths are mostly involved.
No problem :) Take your time to watch Aria. It has 3 seasons + an OVA and two specials.

Wow, it's so hard to find a fan of Tamayura! ^^ Glad to see another Tamayura fan. This series was actually my very first slice of life anime, as most anime I watched before this one were all action and such. Tamayura was the anime that made me love the slice of life genre. And I never knew that slice of life genre had even existed in anime until I watched this one, yeah, I only got into anime last year, LOL!!
But if you want some other ones that are like Tamayura, try the Aria series. The atmosphere is very similar, except everyone are living on terraformed Mars!!
