I've been a fan of Japanese culture since I started with my NES. For Otaku out there I recommend Otaku USA magazine and the book Fandom Unbound. Otaku Unite! is another good documentary which mixes in the convention scene in there as well. But let me confess, I like hearing about anime more than watching it.
