The whole idea of the anime can be considered a typical shounen, and from what has been presented so far, it is doing a relatively good job on being such. Mushibugyou is an anime that is not meant to awaken some deep and thoughtful side of the audience, instead entertaining with uncommonly plotted story, fairly well animated fighting scenes and funny, but superficial characters. The strenght of this anime is more of a simple and comical nature. One cannot expect wonders when it comes to the concept of Mushibugyou as a whole, seeing as it is most likely to be meant for the kind of ... audience that seeks quickly unravelling events, a light story and a good portion of comic relief.

As for the components, each and every one of them has its good and bad side. This anime, like all others, is not a flawless one, but here is an evaluation of every aspect and element that composes the basics of an anime.

The whole plot is not something exceptional or too extraordinary. The concept of fighting monsterous creatures to save people is well-known and widely spread amongst the animes of the likely genres. What positive and different can be found in this particular piece is, however, the way they managed to recreate the spirit of old Japan. It cannot be stated that it is close to being accurate, naturally, due to the fact that it is all too shallow and innocent, but what can be noticed throughout the whole series is some strangely pleasant sense of being really drawn into the world that the anime is trying to present, no matter how ridiculous this may sound. The story moves forward quite fast and is not burdened with unnecessery complications and annoyingly long speeches or flashbacks. It is all reduced to the recommended for every action-packed anime minimum. The plot developement is very dynamic, which is also a good thing considering the corresponding genre. In the end, all said and done, the story has its flaws, but for a typical shounen, it can be classified as satisfying.

The art is simply too rough and at some points - even uncomely. The characters are drawn in a childish manner and the hairstyles are just ridiculous. That is however one of the unique things about this anime and may be considered as a positive feature by many. It cannot be denied that a unique art, no matter what it looks like, marks the anime as something that is one of a kind and helps the audience sink into its world faster and easier. Overall, this particular art is a disputable topic that mostly depends on each and every person's own opinion.

The sound effects, the songs and the acting skills of the voice actors are a great match for this type of anime and its purposes. The first opening theme may have sounded a little bit too ear-teasing, but that's to be expected from an action series. The soundtrack follows the steps of original Japanese culture sounds, which is the highlight of this section. An amazing selection of perfectly matching traditional music completes every single scene and brings out emotion and sensuality to every frame. The sound is most probably the component most sophisticatedly done in this anime.

The characters are colourful and funny, but on a sad note - too chliché and too innocently superficial. Of course, one could say - that's to be expected from an anime that focuses on entertainment through super-power fights and action. But really, a significant part of the audience has grown tired of simple and poorly developed characters in exchange for good action. Why not just mix them up both for a change? Who knows, maybe something good could be born. But back to the topic, the characters have their positive traits as well. They are all unique in their own way, and there is a huge conrast and variety between different personalities and appearances. They are all bright and funny, each of them is developed in a way that at some point to be able to provide some comic relief. Slightly overdone and exaggerated reactions, but let's not forget the fact that this is an animation that has, above everything else, the purpose to entertain.

Overall, the enjoyment that one can squeeze out of this anime differs from person to person. As I am left with no other choice, I will simply share my thoughts on the subject. I am having a really nice time with this anime, it is so light and ought to improve your mood in an instant. That, combined with the factor of some really well directed fighting scenes and charming in a very dumb way protagonist, brings me immense joy every time I sit back and play the latest episode of Mushibugyou.

This is an anime that I wouldn't recommend to everybody, since it has, let's put it this way, a selective audience. It will be liked by those who don't search for something significant and life changing, but instead seek enjoyment in the simple things. It is a great choice when you're in a need to lift your spirits and will always make you laugh, as long as you let its humor reach you.

As a conclusion, you will enjoy this anime, as long as you let it make you enjoy it.

The idea of the whole anime may sound ridiculous, but it is exactly the fact that they managed to recreate it in an interesting way that makes the series really intriguing. How many people would watch this after a describtion such as this one: "Guys playing basketball in giant robots; sometimes in THE SPACE." I doubt there would be many anticipating to watch something like that. But what never ceased to amaze me throughout the whole series was that I didn't even once feel like I was watching something dumb and not well-thought. An idea that seems stupid, stereotypical and clichè may actually surprise you ... by representing an overall satisfying story.

The whole plot was in general really nicely planned, I noticed they managed to squeeze in something like a mini-culmination in every single episode. There was no episode with just talk and no action and vice versa. So these two things were somewhat in balance all the time. On a sad note, I was left unsatisfied by the way things concluded. Towards the end the anime became too messed up with all sorts of fanatsy elements. A little bit too much, in my opinion, considering that the main thing in this anime is basketball.

The art was good in its own way. I suppose it would be simply out of place if it was too beautiful and graceful. I am content with the looks of the characters, despite the fact that from time to time I found them drawn too childish.

The sound effects, the acting skills of the voice actors and the songs were absolutely and undoubtetly perfectly selected for this anime. I have absolutely nothing negative to say.

The characters were fun, colourful and nicely developed. Some of them were however simply not deep enough. Too superficial and stereotypical at times, but just a few of them and only rarely. I also liked the fact that there were plenty of female characters, unlike in other sports and action anime. I didn't feel any lack of female presence, which somehow gave a certain sense of colourfulness and completion to the whole story.

The enjoyment I got from watching this anime, unlike most people would predict from its describtion, was great. I had mostly fun and laughed like crazy at some ridiculous scenes. I liked the way basketball matches were recreated and it was a real joy to observe such a fine animation.

Overall, this anime is worth watching, regardless of if you are into basketball or sports as a whole or not. I had a great time watching it, but I do not think I shall ever re-watch it. It is exciting and makes you wait with anticipation for the next episode, but missing the element of surprise, it's just not the same.
Whoever hasn't watched this anime yet, I recommend it from the bottom of my heart.

I had pretty big expectations for this movie and dare I say it, it didn't disappoint me one single bit. Makoto Shinkai has always amazed me with those beautiful stories of his. His work is always centered around the small things in life that can be so easily ignored, yet are what makes us who we are.
His stunning "The Graden of Words" is no exception. A magnificent tale of a sweetbitter love that struck two ordinary people and changed their lifes irreversibly. The characters were nicely developed and had all the depth needed for their story to be felt close and personal. The amazing ... compilation of beautful art and oustandingly plotted story reveals yet another masterpiece that Makoto Shinkai has decided to present us.
As expected, this ought to make you cry.

A fascinating story I got around to read thanks to pure coincidence, but as of late I've seen myself grow more and more addicted to this little pasterpiece.
The art is fabulous, to say the least, and the story is so colourful, deep and full of mistery. The characters are nicely developed and I like were the story is currently headed. Overall, a fine manga that I can proudly call one of my favourite. No way in hell I give it less than 10.

I sincerely loved the art of this anime. It is quite unusual for a typical shonen to have characters with such graceful features. As the girly girl I am, I simply fell in love with Allen from the very beginning (but then again, who didn't?).

The story didn't really impress me at first but the more I watched, the more grew my interest. Especially the last few arcs. They were filled with so much tension and action and complications! I was but a simple observer, watching in fascination as the events unravelled before my eyes.

As for the personalities of the characters - they mostly ... left a good impression, but some were just too cliche. I also found some resemlance between these characters and those participating in the Naruto Saga. That made them sort of predictable, but overall, the comic relief provided and the unique features in some of the main figures such as Lavi and Allen elevated the impression for the character developement as a whole to pretty high grounds.

I had a great time following through with this anime to its very end and became a huge fan of the manga afterwards. I amd part of the optimistic group that still hopes to live to see the day when an anime sequel to the series shall be given breath!

The story is outstandingly plotted. It is not very usual that the person who draws the manga is also the one to come up with the plot for it, as it is rather rare to see somebody manage to combine both drawing talent and original ideas in one. Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto manga creator, is such a shining example that something magnificent can be born when you are both gifted with drawing skills to be envyed for by many and the ability to come up with a plot and characters that have some sort of real depth and make the person who reads the story ... actually stop and think about a lot of things.

Naruto is not just about fights and action and kick-ass skills (which is however a major element of the story composition and adds that exciting flavour of dynamic to the story), but also about friendship and bonds and how connections can be formed, ruined and rebuild. As if the main purpose is not to entertain, but to rather show how cruel the world can sometimes be and how you must deal with all the pain and sorrow that you face throughout your lifespan. The main character, Naruto, is always the positive factor, the symbol of hope that signals light and kindess with his arrival, the one who never loses his path. He is also gifted with a stuborness that never ceases to amaze and a burning will to never give up.

The way I see it, Naruto is the kind of person that we all should try to become - bright, positive and never doubting in ourselves and our believes.

And what of the other characters? They are simply unique, each and every one of them in their own way. The range of varying personalities is stunning and the way the story keeps almost noone neglected really makes me admire the writor's skill.

And as for the art - I have followed through the story for quite a few years now and have seen it change and somewhat mature. It has of late become more realistic and more accurate for a ninja/shonen manga. Masashi Kishimoto has undoubtetly build a style of his own that is uncomparable to anything before it and anything that is yet to come.

Overall, as I now look up to what I've written, there were only good and positive things to say about this wonderful manga which I can without any regret call a masterpiece. It cant be helped. When something is good, it is good and that's the end of it.

Let's hope we shall be enjoying this manga for many years to come. It absolutely deserves to be placed as first in all sorts of rating systems!
