IMO, good fights. You're right, it had everything else going for it to make it a stand-out action show, but aside from the first episodes the fights are all energy blasts and explosions without any real choreography to them. Hopefully the mecha reboot that's been rumored will be better.

Yeah, it seems to me like it will shift from the murder mystery theme from where I'm at right now, probably will watch GTO next, but might re-watch death note before I do.
I want to watch The legend of the galactic heroes before college starts seeing as how I probably won't have time for it.
