I'm just in it for the shows because I find tv to be boring. I find anime to have a more variety of choices and styles that can really be interesting and fun to watch at the same time. I give my rating out like I would give a percentage out of 10. I don't think that a 5 should be average because giving it a 5 would be like a 50% which means that you didn't enjoy it at all. So, I rate mine like someone would a test. Also, I watch anime for THE EXPERIENCE. I don't want to be hypocritical, I just want to watch it and hopefully enjoy it too. If I enjoyed the ride I'll give it a higher rating. If I didn't I'll give it a lower rating. I will admit I do give high scores to some of the popular shows, but what's wrong with that. They are popular because people like them. It doesn't mean that I'm blind to other shows or that I cant find the meaning to other shows it just means that I enjoyed it like many other people do. Anyways, I was first introduced to anime when the first season of naruto came out and ever since i've been watching more and more as new animes are made. I'm not a big manga fan though, but I find manga to be interesting. Reading it is ok I guess. I don't know if im an otaku or not, cause I dont really talk about anime and stuff, but I still want to keep watching. So I guess you could call me one then. I also have created a Hidan cosplay with Hidan's scythe. Everything is easy to get, but the scythe is a real pain in the ass to make since I made a homemade one(im also not being lazy with it like some people and actually trying to make it look real and not a piece of crap). I also have made hidans retractable blade too. Anyways, anime has been a big part of my life and I love finding new shows that kick ass, touch my heart, or make me question things. Either way I don't know where I would be without anime today.
If you want to know how to make Hidans scythe or the retractable blade then feel free to watch my tutorial.

Hi.
I just wanted to reply to a few points raised in your comment on my list. Without further ado:
You're right about long-running shounen, of course. Both in the observation and the reason behind it. Whenever I ponder watching something with that many episodes, I start thinking "but that's [2-5]0 shorter shows [12-13 episodes]...wouldn't I enjoy that more?". Considering shounen isn't my favorite demographic (or, in the sense of these shows, genre), I think it's in my best interest.
School Days. You mention the ending, so I found it rather funny - I only started watching it because of the ending. However, I find it painful to sit through - perhaps it's just me, but it's so damn creepy and the artstyle (practically a personification of what people who don't know anything about anime think anime looks like) makes me want to claw out their eyes. I still can't figure out is that a good thing or not. But I'm finishing it for sure.
No tens. I'm not, in theory, opposed to giving out 10's. It's just that I haven't come across anything I could give a ten in good conscience. I noticed that I'm somewhat stricter with anime (and film) than books [though, obviously not manga] and music. But anyway, the two former tens on my list are Welcome to the NHK and Texhnolyze. Former because in the end there were elements - just little bits - that bothered me. Is it nitpicking? Overthinking? Something else? No idea.
Getbackers. I didn't hate this, but the main characters and the artstyle just turned me off. I usually drop without giving it a second thought, but this wasn't the case - I really liked the side-characters (specifically, the villains). I've been told the manga is better, so I just might give it a try.
Oh yeah, looking at your profile, I noticed Kurokami in your favorites, and upon checking it out, added it to my PTW. I must admit I never even heard of it or Karin, so thanks for introducing me to something new. I find it more difficult these days, having sort of exhausted all the readily-available channels.
