This isn't going to be your regular happy anime with the MC fighting and surviving on friendship magic. nope, the MC's (who are typical meek and introverted folks) are about it enter a whole new world right in front of them, whether they want to or not, and it's bloody, full of carnage, with little to no forgiveness. not recommended for new anime fans or people weak to possible gore.
I'd also like to point out that Parasyte came in the 80's and tokyo ghoul being fairly new. their extremely similar. the only difference which will bring out arguments of which is better is how the studio's animated it...if they did at all. a lot of the stuff that happens can happen in manga, but in anime its a whole new thing.
-Both are short
-Both involve a guy and a girl to which they are close (take that as you will)
-if you were to take their relationship as a manzai routine, one of them is the tsukkomi(stright man), and the other is the boke (idiot)
-both are very cute and enjoyable to watch, especially as an in between from serious anime
-both have an OVA
-both definitely should get more episodes
-annoying girl bothers the MC constantly and berates him when he's in contact with other girls
-futuristic fantasy setting
-every other girl is more interesting the MC girl
-magic and technology meet
-MC has lots of bad luck(?)
-visually they looked the same or are very similar
-if all else fails, wait for the MC to get "personally" angry
though Index>Strike the Blood
-Both were aired at the same time
-Both heavily focused on romance and drama, with a touch of fantasy for NnA.
-shippers would actually have a bit of a hard time discerning who their favorite pair is
-both are set (not focused) in schools
Now this is where its different. you got a group of adults and a group of kids, but both groups have problems that are opposite of their age group. the "adults" are wishy-washy, cry a lot, and have problems kids could take care of. The "kids" on the other hand are way mature, actually have more sense to their thoughts and actions, and have more solid personalities, not something flaky like the salt flake snow.
Both were decent manga with potential but got axed.
both involve resurrecting someone from the dead to put them to use.l
both are not that great of an anime (though the OVA for Princess Resurrection was stunning!)
the MC's are wimpy, but they try to change that
freaks of nature all around them.
both of MC's are the targets of MANY thing, good & bad
involves undead, zombies, basically the whole occult package.
if you REALLY have nothing to do, or you need one of those "break" anime to prepare yourself for actual good ones, than this is for you
both are WAYYYY too similar.
-both MC's are delinquent-type characters and are treated as such. their personalities are similar as well. quite likable MC's.
-both have to deal with a number of messed in the head type girls
-both are the tsukkomi (straight man) while almost literally everyone else is a boke (idiot)
-the female MC is probably the most weirdest and dangerous out of all the other girls (in many different ways~)
-both have a tsundere that ACTUALLY a tsundere, not a b----, so their actually quite likable, and I think their the fan favourites as well.
-you will laugh, a lot actually when you read this.
both MC have blond hair
both MC's actually go out and OMIGOD...have fun. they actually look forward to stuff happening around them
both are physically talented and pretty bad@$$
both anime involves going into a fantasy world.
VERY dynamic character designs.
the worlds they go to have a different way of handling conflicts, or rather...wars.
both somehow feel like their referencing Touhou.
The kind of anime where you start liking the enemies as much as the main cast, sometimes even more.
They have a lot of WTF humor and trollish moments that are quite awesome once you think about it.
Both have a trap.
-both are heavily comedic and break the 4th wall like there's no tomorrow. they don't take themselves seriously, and neither should you when you watch these. just sit down, relax, and don't drink while watching.
-both involve one character really wanting to kill another character.
-you won't be able to take the bad guy's seriously.
-good sets of OP and i think even ED's.
-there are some REALLY weird characters in both of them.
both MC's have the same type of reaction face when the WTF is strong.
both anime are filled with characters making the most out of their lives and having fun.
happy feeling anime.
involves some crazy and funny antics.
just generally adorable and cute
really good after watching more serious anime
likable MC's. no abusive female MC's here (thank god)
a kid comes to live in a rural town and is greeted by his class with open arms.
also the town is f---ed up but no biggie.
supernatural stuff happens
people are "mysteriously" disappearing every episode
MC should have GTFO'd out of there ASAP
both are new versions of their original anime/manga
both pure and original Shounen
great story with good characters.
MC's family is dysfunctional
many of your shounen favourites were inspired or taken from these two.
some great seiyuu's in it.
even the bad guys are likable
both are heavily focused on both MC's and their interactions with each other. the interactions are actually the best part, because they usually have full conversations and its nice seeing them interact and react.
one is straightforward while the other is very mischievous. kinda like the whole manzai routine.
both couples are traveling
both girls have mysterious pasts
both have nice ratings and are fairly popular
when i read alive, i think of psyren alot.
they both have the same feel, and both involve an "evolved" human
both have a messed up story (in their world i mean)
both also consist of 3 childhood friends, 2 guys, 1 girl.
supernatural/sci-fi stuff in both of them
-both have a nice guy who's a delinquent only because of their looks
-both have some stuck up girls
-both fe/male leads have a common goal and work towards it together.
-both have a girl with just too much energy.
-both are very dark
-lots of people want the main guy killed
-both main girls are very important to the main guy
-supernatural powers which are very creative are in
-at one point the main guys are basically like "F the world, i'll do what i want!"
-both are set in the future
-both guys have 2 lives.
-both have second seasons.
-the "outside" world does not know of these supernatural powers.
-there will be important people dying
both sounded like awesome animes...but their kinda....not.
both have low ratings., seriously, tehnominator, a well known reviewer on this site, rated both of them 4
both have kind of a pathetic main character.
both are kinda harem
both guys have a childhood friend that's been with them forever.
Misuzu = Shuri because their the only ones that can fight (properly) without the use of plotkai.their probably the only few decent characters in both animes.
they contain half decent fighting.
their OP&ED are both average. (except the ED of 11eyes, that was actually good.)
these animes are kinda NOT recommended to watch.
one guy goes into a whole world made up of money. of course, money can bring out the worst of people, so this guy has to do something about it.
their both realistic in some sort of way in regards of how people will act with money around them.
both have a virtually useless male lead with an extremely awesome female swordsman counterpart.
there's lots of blood and fighting.
while claymore is set in a somewhat medieval setting, fate stay/night is like taking that stuff and putting it into a modern setting.
there's a lot of swords.
the main cast are a trio who are in a love triangle ans shit happens between them, so they both fight at some point.
both main guys move to a new location where the other 2 were already are.
takuto and kida are voiced by the same guy.
izaya=head because they act the same most of the time.
both trio's in each anime all have different powers unlike each others or the rest.
there's a girl in both animes that have "unpleasant" fantasies between the 2 guys...
both main guys go into another "world" so their basically outsiders but they manage to make friends and stuff
both main guys are voiced by the same dude (who btw is awesome)
both guys are very flashy and artistic and already know some moves before coming to the "anime"
both have a lot of female leads behind them.
both have shounen battles
both main female leads are of high status and can't leave where they are so easily.
their's colourful hair everywhere in both animes.
there's little to no blood, but their still both mature animes.
You want animes with a bunch load or references? have you watched a decent amount of animes which include a broad variety of generes?
or are you completly new to anime?
well either side to it, these animes are a must watch
for people who've watched anime: there's a hell of a lot of references, including specific types of anime and shows
for newbie anime fans: these 2 are like an "anime for dummies" book/anime. your "learn" a bit about anime from here.
you can't get anymore shounen then these 2
they main characters are exactly alike, their both baka's to the extreme yet they somehow make everyone like them.
they also has big plans when they were little and their trying to fulfill these dreams as we speak. their also trying to find "something" but what their looking for is different.
also Nami = Lucy in almost every aspect except hair colour. their both the "straight woman" in their jokes.
and chopper = Happy. cmon, their like mascots to each team. and you can't help but hug them at least once.
and Robin = Erza because they both have horrible pasts and their super strong and well known.
also the rivalry between natsu and grey are like zoro and sanji. competition in every aspect.
and boa hancock = juvia because they both love a main character and they act the same way to their lover(?), they also think they have extreme love rivals.
both have sword fighting, fist fighting, magical fighting, ect you name it.
both set out on an adventure to find their dad, who left them when they were little.
both their mom's died during the dad's absence.
both make a team of friends who can (mostly) fight
both are fairly optimistic.
both have shonen battles with comedy in it.
both have that medieval/fantasy/magical power kind of stuff to it. basically the setting is pretty much the same
both have one regular guy with lots of potential meeting royalty and being the "hero"
the animation, the characters and how they look are very similar
one of the main characters are also a tsundere
both of these are a MUST WATCH if your a guy who's into shounen or is new to anime itself. these 2 are a favorite among shounen fans
both have a lot of action, comedy and epic characters
both have that punk/emo/sasuke-like character that the girls love [kanda=hibari] (seriously that character it mostly the reason girls watch these, lol)
both have another character that's OPPOSITE to the above people [Lavi=Yamamoto]
both main characters are born with their power, and that power is unique among many.
both are over 100+ episodes
both main guys have a teacher they hate
both of them want to help out everyone (cliche in anime, rare in real life)
both have a variety of different weapons used by the MC's and enemies (main characters)
both MC get a power-up/awakening
both have SUPER-MEGA-AWESOME OPENINGS!!!
but most of all, both fans of these shows DEMAND A SEASON TWO!! that's how good they are
like the recommendations always say: if you like one, your sure to like the other.
their both the 4th movie for their respective titles.
their both set in an alternate realm
only the main character and a handful of his friends are involved.
both have to do with saving a girl.
the only difference was that the bleach movie was actually REALLY good and well done, unlike naruto's.
if you like Naruto than you should know that more than half the stuff in it was already taken from hunter x hunter. the most obvious is the fact that a clan of "red-eyed" people were slaughtered because of their red-eyes. thee's also the fact that there's a survivor that's bent on getting revenge and will do anything to succeed. remind you of someone?....
other than that "idea"
both main characters grew up without their parents.
both their dad's are great people.
both "act" rather than "think"
they both have a 4 main character squad (team 7 with kakashi, and than Gon's team)
both have an exam at the beginning.
both have an antagonist group that's bent on destroying the world or something related (akatsuki = the spiders) and the "red-eyes" want to find this group.
both have some sort of chakra/ki/energy related stuff that they learn
both have shounen battles and tournaments.
both have something ridiculous with them (Naruto wearing a bright orange jumpsuit while he's a ninja, and Gon fighting with a fishing rod) yet somehow their able to work with it.
both EXTREMELY good and EXTREMELY underrated anime. this 2 shows are definitely compatible. both have the same kind of pure action your looking for.
everyone in both anime's all have different powers.
both main's dad "left" them
both have a close girl friend that gets pulled into the situation.
both have a "coward, useless" friend that eventually becomes useful.
seriously if you see one you will like the other.
both main characters don't really belong with the group their in.
both are shonen, have super-powered fights, have comedy.
both fight to protect their justice.
their both really enjoyable if you just want to watch somthing good.
so if you want a regular shonen with little or no teenage angst, this is the show for you.
do you like bleach? are you a toshiro hitsugaya fan(girl)?
well this is the anime for you, because the main lead in law of ueki has his exact same voice as his, except this time you actually hear him joking around.
its also a shonen, super power, comedy action and has epic fightings in it like bleach
both ueki and ichigo are somewhat "different" or "special" from the rest
the set-up in their enviroment is also the same.
for bleach, you have karakura town, the hollow world and the shinigami world
for ueki you have his town, hell and than heaven, in the respective order.
both power up and get stronger.
both wanna fight for their friends
both have no mothers but they have a dad and sister(s)
they also both have a gang of friends that follow him wherever they go.
ueki also had this aizen-like character.
so if you want a regular shonen with little or no teenage angst, this is the show for you.
the relationship between sensei/fuura and kyon/haruhi are VERY similer as the guys regualr people who are realistic and don't believe a lot of things. basicly they can be quite negative because of their personality. and than you have hyperactive idiot girls who believe that ANYTHING is possible, you have to either try or believe. which makes a nice skit as there are like yin & yang to each other to create harmony....or somthing
as for the rest of the class (o, that reminds me, their both school life too), there also a bunch of weird people with "special" features/personalities/powers.
both our heroes wish they werent in the positions there in, getting dragged into their problems and being bothered by them. But alas, they have to deal with it....or do they??
the only difference between the guys are that in SZS the guy is a teacher and in the other he's a student.
the 2 main male leads are kinda similer, each with somthing distinct that stands out.
the "air" and atmosphere are the same, and they both involve past lives.
they both have fantasy elements to it and it also involves school life
both extremly strange animes with randomness to the max
every character in both shows (except for our main guy in FLCL) is totally messed up
the main heroines in both shows are the same: weird, crazy and unpredictable but you can't help likeing them just a bit.
if your into anime with barely any plot or plots thats too confusing, watch these shows.
main character is a butler- check
horrible parent(s) - check
master is a girl - check
a loli main character master - check
masters have a rich friend that comes to visit often - check
weird and horribly overpowered butler chiefs - check, with a mustache! - double check
references to other animes - check
mascots that shouldnt be talking, yet the are - check
maids, butlers, and masters all around - and we have a winner!
these anime's have a part of religion in them, and they will bring God up.
the main characters are essentially excorsists fighting demons.
one of the main characters are both on the side of "god and satan" in a sense.
they give the same kinda of air and presense
- both main guys have blond hair, same happy attitudes, they have almost literally the same past.
both have that medieval feel, with swords and all, though EG also has guns (but if gives this kind of final fantasy feel)
both have this girl thats a bad guy that joins up with the main guy.
both the main girls are super special for the plot and for their status.
both a harem set in a different world.
both the main girl has a split personality that changes only with som interaction with the main guy.
both guys are appaently powerful but it rarely shows
the split personality features a really kind and happy girl, and than its serious and powerful counterpart.
both of them involve their school
both guys get plunged into some weird and magical world.
there both very helpless because of the distance between the human (guys) and these other people and then they try to close this gap.
these two have a LOT of similarity, and they are made by the same people
-the main guy and girl both have an age difference AND a height difference
-the guy helps other girl who have problems and sorta brings them together
-both have a supernatural part to its plot.
-both main guys are kinda "alone"
-both main girls are clumsy and weird, but you can't help being friends and liking them. the 2 main girls are also very "fragile"
both of them (main protaginists) are great "magicans" in a sense,
they both have a swordsman girl as a comrade/ally
they both have special eye powers that are rare.
they both have a laid-back attitude but there still super strong
both of them are "alone"
both have a strange alien girl who visits earth and meets the main protag.
in sora. its angels and in asobi. its cats
also both guys have a childhood friend that likes them
both involve a regular guy getting pulled into a cat world
the main guy also has a childhood friend that likes them
they both have a decent amount of comedy in it
and there both harems so they have those generic episodes like the pool/beach one and the onsen/hot-tub one.
these 2 have a bit of simalarities to each other
- some random supernatural chick meets a regular guy
- the girl is but one of many other girls of their special kind
- the guys both teach them how to live in their society
- they both live with the guy
- both are main couples (in a sense that you want them to)
the stories might be completly different, but a supernatural being (also a girl) gets introduced with a regular guy doing his thing.
karin is like an upgrade to fortune arterial, it has everything that fortune has, but 10 times more of it, literally.
plot, character, development, romance, you name somthing fortune has, karin has a better version of it (and yes that includes vampires)
if u liked fortune or u just want a better version of it, I highly HIGHLY recommend karin.
if u know orochimaru that the main bad-guy for buso renkin is literally almost excalty the same (just change the snake to a butterfly); purple, evil, and very very g-
anyway both naruto and kazuki have that "will to never give up" thing
both have a main guy that wants to protect everything and everyone, even if it costs them their lives, and they also have a female partner that fights with them.
their also both shonen and packed with powers and good fights.
both allen and ichigo are "special" in terms of the power they have and how they have it.
both of them have swords
both of them want to protect their friends at all costs, and thats where they get part of their powers from.
the people that have the powers that the main characters have all belong to some sort of organization
both males have a new type of species introduced to them
both are harems with plenty of girls
at first both of them wish all that happened didnt happen, but they start to enjoy it and like their new lifestyle
the girl protaginists are almost literally excalty the same, acting tsundre towards the main protaginist
theres a bit of a difference one it comes to the guys, for FMP the girl always beats up the guy, while in kaze no stigma, he's always dodging it
also they both have dark pasts.
o, and a rival appears too for both of them.
-both main characters are really similer, one of them being they both have blond hair, and the other being that their father's are "special"
-has a character that is both an enemy/rival/friend, that they end up trying to save.
-Sasuke = Alviss, they also have a "curse mark" that makes them stronger but less human.
-both characters enter a new world in which they realize they have hidden powers.
-both of them end up having to save the "other" world, which ends up them having to save their own world too.
-both of them start by saving a specific girl, then the world.
if you look at these two, you wont see alot of resemblance to each other, other then the fact that they have alot of comedy.
but for me its similar on one point because both male leads have their lives changed because of one annoying-loli-girl being introduced to them, causing their whole lives to change in a good way and meeting lots of friends.
-both male protagonists befriends magical girls
-both have somthing negative against magic
-both of them have met one of the other main characters as a child
-both of the guys have hidden powers
