*frankly can't believe I'll have to say this one day* erm... no random friend invites please. Talk to me beforehand at least! I don't bite (much) =D
A bit about myself, I started watching animes just September last year and have since progressed at a worrying pace. xD
As for Anime preference, the only kinds I absolutely can't stand are overly explicit shonen-ai and ecchi. -OMG I hate ecchi- I value comic relief, so I naturally enjoy funny shows.
The foolproof character personality that I definitely will love in guys is the half-insane kind, who also has a serious side. Classic examples: Komui, Tamaki, Shigure. A few traits which will win me over would be: responsible, caring, funny (very very important!!), smart, dignified. I don't like obsessive/one-track minded/despo guys.
For girls, my lines of like and dislike are less distinct. I haven't found the exact trigger, but I generally like independent, realistic (in terms of behavior and figure) and sensible girls. I cannot stand crybabies, superglues, prefect-in-every-way goddesses, and obsessive idiots.
I am VERY ruthless in my ratings... anything 7 and above is really really good already actually... =D I just have the mentality that since we're given a scale of 1 to 10, we should make use of the full deflection, so please don't be offended if you see your favourite shows getting a 5 or so...
My Rating "System"
10- perfection, or as close as a show can get! (rest assured I'll never let more than 5 shows get this rating XD)
9- consistently good. So it is only different from an 8 because it doesn't have much noticeable flaws, and different from a 10 because something very minor just doesn't agree with me
8- can already be considered as one of my favourite shows, but probably has a few flaws which bring it down a notch
7- pretty good, definitely worth watching
6- worth my time (naturally, shorter shows will get this score more easily)
5- if I had known better, I wouldn't have completed it
4- any time spent after the watching first few episodes is time wasted
3- complete waste of my time
2- either its "yuck", or "rarrgh" or "=.="
1- one of the great regrets of my life
because I'm not as stingy as commonly believed (I'm stringent, not stingy.) Seiyuus Characters
Erm, fine? I don't exactly go through ERPs much though, I hate driving to town areas. It's an insane nightmare. I remembered once I tried to drive to Taka, missed the turn 3 times so I paid the ERP cost 3 times. So I got pissed off ad just parked at Cinileisure. Problem was on the way home I had no problems going towards the Taka parking. >_>
Hmm, give your friend an sms? Or go visit her house? I do that sometimes with my friends.
Well, I gave the anaylsis to takenby once, about the generic styles of dramas around hte world.
SG dramas tend to make use of the same formulas that one success story had. A few years ago, it was about food (Nasi Lemak, Fish and Chips, Laksa, if I remember correctly). More recently, it was everything Peranakan. Nowm, its about house husbands on the rise.
HK dramas are usually about big families in business. THe father is a successful tycoon but lousy family man. The 1st son and heir to the comapny is the useless one. THe 2nd son is the capable but always jealous one as he can't take hte company no matter how hard he tries, so he plots to get rid of the father and brother. Then the youngst brother is the playboy that drives the company to ruin.
Korean dramas are either about ancient times (be it about doctor, artist etc) or love scenes where there are love octogons.
Japanese dramas are anime wannabes (see Negima live action, or worse, SALIORMOON live action).
American dramas are either about crime (detective shows or lawyer shows), health (Dr house, Royal Pains, Grey's Anatomy) or sex (Despo housewives, Sex and hte city)
Tada, Lester's list of analysis of dramas. Let's not even get to Bollywood ones XD
Well, You aren't really supposed to get it. Behind all that blood and gore lies a huge mystery. That time is repeating again and again, and in each case, there is like a different "murderer". It's honestly a good watch, so I recommend trying to finish it, at least.
what do you mean by extreme modesty??
and lol, asian culture? not all asians are courteous like the people in your country...
we don't follow a rule except going to church on sunday, and we are straight forward with ourselves...
so it depends on the country ion asia...
it is hard to explain...
i'll try it again later...
XXD
Well I think the idea was indeed to mak a person embarrased, so in that sense, it fulfilled its purpose well. Haha
Personally, I would not really to have gotten a biscuit tin, but I do agree with you point of sincerity. For example, for my bdae this year my frens got me a cashcard with topped up to $50, which is very useful for me as I drive around alot, and need the cashcard for my carparks (also considering hte fact that cashcards I use miraculously spoil easily or I simply keep forgetting to top it up).
Hmm, it's not just about common interests, just that it cost too much and takes up too much time trying to keep in contact with everyone, so you end up only looking for hte most interesting ones to you.
Usually, mixed blooded get the good genes from both sides of the family, that's my own opinion though.
Well, there is 1 hr to fill up the time, so when producers run out of ideas, endless crying scenes always work. XD
BTW, I noticed you started Higurashi. How do you like it? o.o
But yeah, it's just a fun exercise. I'm currently doing the same thing right now with Higurashi's spiritual successor, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni which, if you can believe it, is even more confusing as far as its mystery goes. But like Higurashi, it relies on the strength of its characters as the entertaining point, especially the antagonist who's a person you really love to hate. Needless to say, it's awesome!
you don't sound submissive....odd, then don't let yourself stay under him...
a yell like "leave me alone" will suffice....
oh no, he likes you..don't worry about it...
he seems pretty extreme to hurt you...must be personal...
not all guys are direct...most girls are direct too...
some guys will ruin someones reputation by spreading bad rumor and then hides when things get bad.
old?
hehehehe, i guess...
it's the same old formula anyways,
Late reply is late. Sorry!! I have been utterly swamped in schoolwork in the last few weeks of this semester. :S
Anyway! Yeah, I finished one Sonic game. Sonic Adventure 2, I think? That's actually the only Sonic game I've ever finished, haha. Perhaps it was one of the easier ones. |D
I don't get region codes either. I can only guess that it has to do with MONEY and how much the greedy companies can make, but it's really annoying. :| I do know that there's region free dvd players out there, but I would have no use for them, unless I wanted to buy a dvd from the UK or something. |D
Well, it happens sometime! Maybe the theaters monitor that stuff more closely now, but I've watched Bleach and FMA movies taped from a video recorder so... we can only hope. XD
LOL! Well, Monster's seinen so it's not too unusual that the art's kinda gruff. I actually like the art of Darker than Black though! Yet... I haven't watched it yet. XD;
Ahh, this is hard to explain. I think it's more like... take the characters from FMA. I think that if all of their genders were swapped, their personalities would remain relatively the same and unchanged. Where as with Code Geass, it would be really weird if Lelouch were a girl or C.C. a guy. XD lol I'm so confusing...
Ah really? That's interesting. At least you implement history though. American education, in public schools at least, is seriously lacking, in history and geography in particular. I don't like to think that most high school students probably wouldn't be able to even find Singapore on a map. >_>
I'll check Wakeshima Kanon out as well~ Even if you say she sounds weird, I have to know for myself now, ha ha. :) Yellow Generation was one of my favorite girl groups before they split up. I first heard them from one of the ending songs for the first FMA anime, haha.
haha.. nice point you got there..
well, we have different preferences so i guess it depends on the person..
so, u mean, u download more than you stream??
lol... yeah... i also feel bad not buying the original anime products.. well, they are too expensive once they reach our places.. lol... (at least, not in japan or for japanese lol)
also, i buy some pirated dvds of anime sold here... the episodes are illegally downloaded from websites. lol... and the pirated is cheaper than the original. moreover, original DVDs are very rarely found in our place... those rich kids buy them thru online shipping.. i do not have enough money, so i choose whatever is cheaper.. lol..
Haha, well, tell your teacher that mathematicians are more intellectual than historians. And this is coming from me, who got most of his good marks from history classes :p (Yeah, I respect mathematicians a lot.)
Well, without spoiling too much, the key is to take a stab at cause and effect. See if you can find any correlation between certain things that happen and other things that happen. It's admittedly a bit too early to make any really good guesses that'll allow for concrete conclusions, but that's OK.
the guy just likes you...
hahaha, you must've turned him down pretty badly or something, hahahaha
that's cute...
and it is really hard to understand...you see guys have alot of pride...
they won't let their reputation be ruined because of something like that...
and i'm the confrontative kind, you got something to say, say it to my face...
but hehehe, it doesn't really matter...hehehe
lol, then avoid scary shows lol...
you feel awkward...
hahahaha, but i love those transformations...
it's cute..XXD
