I haven't read the original, unfortunately. Do you think the original ending is done just the right way? You can spoil it for me a bit ;)

I am not concerned about the errors here (good you acknowledged them anyway) - rather it is the fact that you keep listing good points of the series and elements you found unfitting, like the giant robots, then you sum it up saying that it does have some minor flaws but the major one seems to be the biggest issue. Right? It feels unequal.

I get your points in the Gankutsuou review, but it's still inconsistent.
