First of all, MAWARU PENGUINDRUM is not your ordinary anime.


It is a masterpiece. The plot is brilliant, symbolic, unpredictable, psychological and EPIC.

I know from the very first ep. of it, that THERE is SOMETHING about this anime which will create a BOND between its audience and the story.

The characters are likable. Esp. their famous lines (ex: seizon senryaku-Himari;gosh I must crush him soon-masako;destiny-ringo) and also this anime will make you love penguins.

I also love the concept of fate here and teh usage of symbolism like apples, diary, bunnies, train, boxes, etc.

I bet this is the anime of the year. This is just so great.

finished gurren lagann today. I dunno. I have mixed feelings about it, i am not really a mecha fan but that doesn't mean i discriminate mecha animes..it's just that i think this one's overrated in MAL.

The beginning was boring, the middle was interesting i was so hooked up, the episodes near the ending was full of fights it gave me so much headaches, and lastly, even though the ending was satisfying, it didn't give me the 'epic' felling everyone was talking about.

I just finished it a few minutes ago. Haha. And I've felt like I must make a quick review of it.

This anime is the exact lesson I should learn when it comes to being an otaku--never have high hopes for something which started incredibly good. I am a ghibli fan, and the first episode really reminded me of Spirited Away. That's why, at the back of my mind, I thought that wow..omg..this anime looks so promising..maybe it will be epic! But as I watched the preceding episodes, my high hopes are beginning to collapse. The fillers can also drag the whole story down, you know? ...

So I ditched it out of my ongoing-anime-priority watch list. I just recently continued watching it because of the sudden developments in the love triangles of Minchi, Tohru and Ohana. It became more exciting because Ko-chan was shown again in the anime. But as other MAL formurers had said, once the plot has been full of ups and downs, the general feeling of the audience will not be the same as before.

It could have been better it they made it 11-12 or 13 episodes. Maybe through that they could really show the real beauty of this coming-of-age anime--that it's not just beautiful characters and sceneries.

If you love romantic comedy, you'll love this. The reason why I can't give it a higher score is because of the very sudden turn of events at the last ep. It totally ruined the show. Well, that's my opinion. I think the ending was very stupid. They could have atleast think fo something more creative than that. (i wouldnt explain more--it will just be a spoiler)

I didnt hate the show...I LOVED it..BUT NOT THE ENDING.

Yaya Higuchi is not your ordinary shy-type naïve student for she has a secret: when she looks in her reflection in the mirror or suddenly hits her head or sees her reflection, she turns into Nana, her second personality who puts her into a lot of trouble because of its troublesome and hyperactive personality which is the total opposite of Yaya. (well, not totally because many times, Nana saves her from being bullied.) She, in spite of her low profile personality, has a passion for singing and cosplaying (she likes gothic fashion).

She likes Shohei, the lead singer of the rock band Juliet but soon ... he develops some feelings for Moriyama who knows Yaya and Nana is the same person.But it’s not easy when Megumi Hano, Moriyama’s fan and the resident evil of the series, comes in her way and become Nana’s worst enemy.

Well, what if the oh-so-mean beast Megumi finds out Yaya’s secret? Oh..that sorts of a double trouble, huh?

The manga’s title was derived not from the renowned play of Shakespeare but from a certain board game called Othello. The reason is that the game has a lot of switching back and forth between black and white pieces (very much like ‘go’ ,also a kind of board game in Japanese) representing Yaya and Nana’s situation.


It depicts the “justice-is-done” adventures of Yaya and Nana as they get through different kinds of trouble. It teaches so many values especially on how to believe in one’s self and how to overcome inferiority complex in order to achieve what you truly desire. Also, it is inclined into music and has a nice illustration that will make your heart be captive.

The negative thing about it is it's so short and the story is so promising..you would ask for more. The ending's fine but it could be great if something unique will happen so I was a bit disappointed on how it was done.


All in all, Othello has a nice blend of drama, comedy, and action that will surely loved by all shoujo fans.I recommended it!

Karada Iokawa hates treated as a kid and she secretly wants is to be a grown up so that she would no longer be a burden to her older brother Hiro.


On the other side, Shoko Nogami, Hiro's ex-girlfirend, envies and somehow hates Karada (I guess..) 'cause Hiro left her in America just to look after her younger sister who lost both of her parents, even though, unknown to Karada, they aren't blood-related. Unknown to herself, he wishes to be a child.

One breezy night, when they meet accidentally at the shrine where they both make their wishes to the wishing stone--the thing Karada believes that grant ... wishes, they suddenly exchange ages--Shoko's body becomes a body of an eleven years old while Karada became a grown up!


How will they accept what happened to them?

Started airing in Japan between October 5 and December 21, 2006 on TBS,and was produced by J.C. Staff, Asatte no Houkou (A Direction of the Day After Tomorrow) is a 12-episode anime based on the manga of the same title penned by J-ta Yamada.


What makes it appealing is its smooth graphics--totally an eye candy!, awesome and alive-looking characters' eyes and most of all, its unique story.

Though I MUST ADMIT it has some usual anime cliches. And the story is so simple--no furthermore complications. It's disappointing 'cause if they focused on it, maybe they can make it much better. Since it is predicting and easily can be forgotten.Well, most slice of life and short anime are really forgetful.

The opening is good but not worth downloading. The ending song is a lot better.

If you want a relaxing slice of life with a bit of drama, then,why not give it a try?

Low profile Yuuta Takemoto is undoubtedly just an ordinary architecture student with inferiority complex that runs away from home after his mother married a man who’s totally opposite of his late beloved father. He decided to live in an old creaky apartment where he met his two friends Takumi Mayama and Shinobu Morita who are also belong to the architecture department in their school.

Takemoto and ... HaguWhen she met the cute, lovely and talented Hagumi Hanamoto whose in fact a niece of their teacher, he knew that it was love at first sight. On the other hand, Ayumi Yamada, whose expertise in pottery is truly incomparable, has a long time feelings for our timid and serious-type Takumi Mayama who loves a different, weak and lonesome buttered woman older than him. To add knots on all love triangles this story have, a resident womanizer from Mayama’s work named Nomiya was showing an interest on Yamada which makes Mayama a little bit insecured and over-protective onto her. Is it jealousy?

Follow the different lives of these five art students with their dignified teacher as they strive to reach their dreams and learn the shining shimmering lessons of their youthful lives unveiling their true feelings while sorting out their own love triangles.

Honey and Clover is a simple classic tale which has proven to us that you don’t need to have flashy and high-tech illustrations and elements to bring a nice and self-relating story that’ll captures everyone’s heart and mind.
