About smpsdotnet
Hi! This is my profile! You can't have it!

My name is Polly, and I am the somewhat proud owner of and atrociously bad head writer for Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net. Perhaps you've heard of us. That site with the Final Fantasy articles? Yeaahhh, I think you know who we are now! We're kinda neat! (read: but not.) Though we've been mostly focused on videogames (yes, I spell it as one word, if you don't like that, then A PLAGUE ON YOUR HOUSE!) since the site's creation in 2005, we've begun to feature a number of Japanese Cartoon reviews over the past few years.

I've been actively watching and collecting Japanese Cartoons (Yep! I buy stuff! Suck it!) since around 1992 starting in the VHS days, and my first exposure to them was somewhere around 1988. I tend to prefer action/sci-fi shows, but I also dig quiet and moody shows from time to time such as Sora no Woto and Haibane Renmei. From 2000-2005, I stopped watching Japanese Cartoons due to burn out. The only shows I watched during this time were both Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series. It wasn't until watching Elfen Lied, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Gunslinger Girl, and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni that my interest in Japanese Cartoons was fully re-ignited and I've been actively watching and expanding my collection since then.

I keep manga reading to a minimum. Reason being, I tend to burn through volumes way too fast to justify purchasing them (save a few very special exceptions.)

I really have no idea why I finally decided to fill this out.

Ambiguous Rocket!

Sorry, the AP testing has destroyed my brain and temporarily turned me into a bit of a space cadet :P

Personally I haven't had any experience really with Evangelion outside of "You should watch it" or on the other side of the spectrum, hearing that it is full to the brim with obnoxious symbolism...I'm so behind on the animus in the league of "CLASSICS YOU SHOULD WATCH"

Glad I'm not alone in thinking Spirited Away is kind of ass.

How in God's name am I supposed to balance out the number of tens on my list if I KEEP WATCHING AMAZING SHOWS?! I have SEVENTEEN TENS for crying out loud! STOP MAKING GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS! For the sake of my sanity, please!

Gueeeeessss what just came in mail todaaaaay! If your guess involves a certain nineties sci-fi film and the first season of it's accompanying TV series whose title rhymes with "Toast in the Dell", you'd be guessing riiiiiiight.

God the suspense is killing me.

Only four more episodes (and one of the best endings ever) to go!

Sorry, Polly, I left the computer logged on for a minute in a computer lab. Ignore a comment I seemed to make an hour ago. If you didn't see it, good.

Crono_Maniac | Feb 28, 2011 6:47 AM
I'll take that as a high compliment considering it's from the person who's latest viewings include Wolf's Rain and FLCL!

Celty is soooooo awesome. :)
