I think I got into anime around 2000. First one I ever saw in Japanese was actually Sailormoon.
I was on dialup around that time and found a nifty little program called Direct Connect (DC). Was over at a friends house one day and he was watching sailormoon and mentioned in the original one they didn't censor the transformation scenes. So being curious(yes, not perverse.. I wasn't infected at that time) I found a hub on this DC network that mentioned "anime" my new word for that year :)
So I got in and downloaded the first episode in japanese. turns out, my friend was wrong. But After talking so much to everyone (I had to keep the ops busy so they wouldn't check my share list :) They ended up getting me hooked on Love Hina. My first ever anime series that I had watched all the way through.
Other Interests:
Programming.
I've worked doing PHP websites driven by XSL stylesheets and SQL databases for around 5 years now.
I wrote the Perl script that AFAIK is still being used on many DC Hubs today.
I'm also the author of the KDM Theme Configuration Dialog (NOT the Themer, just what you use to configure what theme is set) Which was merged into the main config dialog for KDE4.
I also wrote an Autostart Manager for KDE (The KDE4 port is still a work in progress)
Sadly I've not done KDE programming for quite some time. You could say lack of time, but mostly its probably lack of interest. KDE4 is out, but I'm not using it until 4.1 is released.
I love the outdoors, but Hate Winter. I'll take summer all year long!
I'd rather be active than sit in 1 spot for hours on end. Which is why I do not do Computer Programming for a living. I tried that once and hated every minute of it. Geeks and I somehow don't get along too well. I don't really get it..
For the female crowd reading this.. I'm quite lovable, helpless romantic if you will ;) (Yes I'm single)

I'm learning perl myself. And I'd be happy to help.

I hear you made a shell mal updater. Is there anyway to get the sourcecode or contribute?

wow, writing a program that is used in mainstream KDE: that is so awesome!!
Now every time i will use one of those things i will remember you from MAL.
I am planning to learn better programming and make it my living :D.
