About slpless
I became an anime fan fall of my sophomore year in high school. I was sitting with 2 of my friends during lunch and they were talking about downloading anime in particular, The Vision of Escaflowne. Then I mentioned that it'll probably take 16 hours on a download and asked if it was any good (since one is willing to spend so long to download)? They looked at me with a dumbfounded look and one of them told me they would bring the first volume (VHS) tomorrow. After I watched all of Escaflowne, she then loaned me her entire collection, which includes, Lain, Cowboy Bebob, Outlaw Star, etc. After she graduated I went through a dark ages so to speak. My main source of anime was gone and the only available anime was the local Hollywood Video. Needless to say I watched quite a bit of crap. I had a revival so to speak in spring 2003 when I got a summer job so I can actually buy good anime as well as discovering fansubs.

In general, I prefer more serious and dramatic anime however, above all else I like good anime. So I'll pretty much watch anything as long as its good. Well that is minus yaoi, shounen-ai, and shoujo-ai. Wait, why not shoujo-ai you ask? well I need a male avatar damn it! :P

One day I realized that my writing sucks and I need to do something about it. I guess all those years of writing technical reports and labs does that to you. So what better way to improve than to write about something I love, anime. If you read one of my reviews and found one of them "not helpful" or "helpful" please PM or comment telling me why. Also, I better not hear anything like "your opinion sucks" its "helpful" or "not helpful."

I am not, nor have ever claimed to be objective when it comes to reviewing. That is impossible with any review, or anything really. So take my reviews with a grain of salt and take them as nothing more than my opinion. Therefore, when I claim something is bad or good, what I really mean is “In my opinion I like/dislike this aspect.” However, saying such things would be awkward and the current standard of reviewing is to simply leave out the IMO part as its implied.

Real life/misc crap:
I work as an engineer working on various small R&D projects. Besides anime, there's the huge backlog of visual novels, manga, video games (mainly jrpgs surprise surprise), and other geeky hobbies I have. However, the biggest hobby I have after anime is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, where I have an obsession that nearly rivals that I have for anime.

Favorite Artist (in no particular order)
Naru Nanano
Hiro Suzuhira
Misato Mitsumi
Akane Ikegami
Mikeou
Kei Toume
Tony Taka
Takashi Takeuchi
Mutsumi Sasaki
Takashi Hashimoto

Great review for Mobile suit Zeta gundam.^^

I loved your review of Mobile Suit Gundam and I completely agree about the lack of character development. I thought that when Char was sent away from the force for a time, that could have been a great opportunity to develop his character by showing what he did and thought about in his 'down time'. Instead we got nothing. I thought it was a serious problem that we didn't even see what his motivation was until the series was almost over. It's really a shame as the show could have been great with better character writing, but like you said, it was just endless battles instead.

I really appreciated your review of Spirited Away. I'm of the mindset that most of the Miyazaki films really are wildly overrated simply because of media hype for children. I'm glad that you brought up that you don't fall into the target audience, because deep down I know that that is a point I need to take into consideration.

That being said, I have a hard time understanding the absolute reverence that Miyazaki gets for putting out mostly average films.

I noticed that we don't necessarily see eye-to-eye on every anime, but I always like to see someone who has a level head on them and formulates their own opinions about anime.

I just read your review for TTGL, I feel pleased that someone else has the same viewpoint as myself.

It's been awhile, not sure if you remember me or not. How have you been doing?

Nice review of Spirited Away! I have to agree with you 100% on that one. It is a very overrated film, I'm not sure why everyone likes it.

Also you have very good tastes in anime. "Perfect Blue", "Perfect Blue", and "5 Centimeters Per Second " are great! I loved them all.

You hit the nail on the fucking head with Tree of Palme, that shit was horrible.

asksam | 03-19-09, 5:28 PM
where is the last episode of escaflowne? i watched 26 episode but it seem that there another episode

yumedarling | 02-18-09, 12:03 PM
I really agreed with your reviews for Gurren Lagann and The Place Promised in our Early Days.

Both of those series are quite overrated, and especially Makoto Shinkai in general after Hoshi no Koe. I could barely stand to watch one episode of 5 centimeters per second.

hirahira | 12-27-08, 4:59 PM
it's sad that there are so few people who don't like that anime

I loved your review for Gurren Lagann

Wow, you and your Lucky Star squad are pretty slow. I expected a comment from you a few month ago. You were probably to busy sucking off Konatas dick in one of the Lucky Star futa fanfictions, from the typical SUPERKAWAIIXDDD^^*_*O_OROFLXDD MyAnimeList forum users, to notice my more than obviously copied review.

Oh and: "Feel free to do whatever you wish to him." really made my day.

Ruishinto | 09-15-08, 5:39 PM
I have another recommendation for you. Whenever you get the time in that backlog of Anime you have waiting for you, check out Higurashi no Naku Koro ni as well as the sequel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, a very good series in my opinion.

I just noticed this guy completely copied your review of Azumanga and used it in a slightly changed format for his Lucky Star review. Feel free to do whatever you wish to him.
