I do wonder about some of these rules sometimes.. ^^
Darker than Black and Denpa teki na Kanojo do look interesting, so i'll watch them both, thank you very much! I already have plenty on my to-watch list, but anytime you feel like recommending anything, please go ahead! <3
I usually tend to go for psychological horror or anything gory, but in reality i just like a good plot. I don't mind comedy or romance, as most of the times they take away from the tension of such anime, so things like NHK or Steins Gate have found a way into my favorites despite not having any horror aspects. I am however, mainly attracted to horror. =)

Nichijou is pretty underrated, which amazes me to no end since it's a Kyo-Ani slice of life anime. I expected it to boom like Haruhi, K-On and Lucky Star. Some people might find the humor to simply be random and nonsensical, and at times I agree, but I did find it hilarious most of the time, and I liked almost all of the characters.
Nah. Kyouko's not on my least favorites. She actually grew to be likable despite having the most annoying voice. She's the one that makes the most sense among the cast. And Kyubey may be a walking contradiction, but he wasn't as irritating as the others. I should take Mami off of there though. She may have been an annoying holier than thou douche who represents the figure of pure good and acts like she's better than Homura, but her relevance to the show was far too minimal.
And that seems to be the general consensus. People who hate or aren't familiar with Magical Girl shows tend to really like Madoka. I know a lot of the fans who do too, but I found there were too many things wrong with it for me to enjoy it.
I did like the music though. It just got stale after a while, and the few tracks that weren't ominous and depressing were pretty bland to begin with. I wanna see hear Yuki Kajura work with something feel good and upbeat.
If there's any Magical Girl show I could recommend it's Princess Tutu. If you liked Madoka you'll probably like this one. It seems cutesy with it's shoujo art and ballet theme, but it's wonderfully dark (but not Madoka level grimdark) with a deep, mindscrewy metafiction plot and some of the best character development I've ever seen.
