Since most of what the anime I like speaks to me on a personal level most of the "about me" stuff can be guessed from my list. Kudos to whoever can guess what I like aside from anime. (No, people that already know that need not apply. :P )
Other stuff:
Morinaga Milk is one of my favorite mangaka. Right now I'm also interested in Kotegawa Yua (scanlate moar! everything, everything!), Inoue Takehiko (for REAL mostly), and Kamio Yoko (I like both Cat Street and Matsuri Special, dropped Hana Yori Dango a long time ago, but I'll give it a try again at some point).
My favorite Animation Production Studios are Bee Train and GAINAX. To be honest, except for these 2, I don't pay much attention to who produces what.
My favorite composer is Yuki Kajiura. I also like Yoko Kanno and Shoji Meguro (too bad he didn't do the OST for the Persona anime).
Sidenote: I dislike people who dislike the anime I like and/or like the anime I loathe. I very rarely make compromises when it comes to anime so if you see my list and disagree with most of it, you can be incredibly funny, witty, whatever, chances are I will not like you. It's not that I'm 100% intolerant. Usually I'm not. (Well, except with people who are fanatical about their religion/morality and try to impose it on others. I'm pretty sure I do not want your religion or your rules as I have mine.)
Sidenote no 2: my name does NOT come from Bleach or Death Note. I've been using it for a long time and I only watched Bleach recently, caving in to people's insistence >.>

Just thought I'd let you know that on your link to your animeblogger website you have http in there twice which destroys the link.
Also since you say that Gainax is one of your fav studios you NEED to check out Gurren Lagann. You will NOT be dissapointed.

That is odd with the lack of Dokuro-chan. Maybe the common list doesn't compare shared anime if one of us puts it on the "dropped" list.

I've thought about it, but still haven't wanted to. It would mean I would have to learn another operating system.
But it seems to be getting popular so it might be worth it soon....especially after fiddling with Vista.

But the good part of DOS...you hae to know what you are doing or nothing will happen.
Pointing and clicking is limited...anyone can do it, but it is harder to do special tasks. Either it executes or it doesn't.
Some of the best fun I had as a kid was hiding files on my friends computer in DOS.

Its an IE world...unfornatually. I have to use IE at work and I don't like it. FF all the way....
...and Vista...oh don't get me started on that one. Yuck!
Why can't we just go back to DOS?

Beautiful thingabout friendship is that you only need one thing in common to make it work. Welcome to the fold.

Yeah, that's right -- I only add movies and some OVAs, not movies. I only do that because, right now, my favourites would all be Ghibli except Akira if I added movies.
(But I rated FMP? Fumuffo 9 and it's not on my favourites, so like, the rating doesn't matter all that much.)
Anyway, you've watched a hella lot of anime.

Two reasons, really. One, the main character's power was to create a magical cube. Of course, everybody and his uncle in a shonen series has some sort of special power. What I saw as different in Kekkaishi was how Yoshimori had to use his power in ways that didn't involve brute force or "fighting instinct". From trapping the wheel-blade monster with a box in its spokes to using kekkai as stepping stones for air travel to using air pockets in two kekkai to make a backdraft to burn the forest, I was always pleasantly surprised with what he came up with.
Two, the characters - the leads make a surprising amount of sense, and the supporting characters aren't on the sidelines (emotionally or physically). When I first learned that Yoshimori was an aspiring pastry chef, I thought that it was just a comic quirk. But when the series got to episode 15 and Yoshimori vowed to seal Karasumori, I saw where it had been going. It wasn't just his desire to protect Tokine, it was also his own desire to become a patissier subtly behind that decision. On the side, I really liked Atora's mourning of Gen - it showed something I have yet to see otherwise outside of GANTz - an expression of mourning that doesn't involve blind rage, a quiet sorrow. Also Matsudo Heisuke - he's a delightfully enigmatic character. On the one hand, he's strong-minded and has a legitimately noble personality. On the other hand, he's a truly despicable freak - he sold each part of his body to a different demon, dug a guy's wife out of his grave and tried to revive her. I enjoy that kind of dualism.
There are other, minor, things, like the orchestral soundtrack and the nonnegligable side comedy, but those are like 95% of my Kekkaishi rating. Sorry for backlogging you com board. Actually, thanks for asking. It's a nice thing to do from time to time, just remembering why I loved a show.

Judging by our anime ratings, we're somewhat even steven on our likes and dislikes, with a few up to four points at most. So no, not all of it is due to synchro sessions.
Speaking of which, you really should return to those.

I mostly like Noto Mamiko for her voice acting, not so much her singing.
