Hello all! shadowsirenv here (I purposely do not capitalize the "s")! Welcome to my MyAnimeList profile! Feel free to add me as a friend, but don't leave me hanging! I'd like to get know you a little. What's the point of being friends, if you don't even talk to a person?

About Me
I'm just a small town girl, living in a lonely wooorld~
Sort of.
I do live in a small town and I'm in my sophomore year in high school (I'm aware that I'm a youg'un). I'm the second child in between to boys, making me the only girl. I guess I can say I really have always liked anime, but didn't really get into until about two summers ago. I used watch shows like Pokemon, Dragonball Z, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Hamtaro, but as you can tell, my interests and tastes have expanded since I was younger.
School Life
I've always done really well in school. I don't know what my GPA is at this point, though.
My current favorite subjects this year are History (because my teacher is awesome), and Drama (We do absolutely nothing in that class but socialize and run the suicide awareness program).
TV Shows
I watch less TV than the averge person, really. However, I do watch when I'm not watching anime. I can't say I've seen every episode of these shows, but I do watch them when I can (Beware! I love Bravo):
- Top Chef
- The Real Housewives of Orange County/New York City/Atlanta
- Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List
- Project Runway
- South Park
- Family Guy
- Important Things with Demetri Martin
- Friends
- Seinfeld
- Robot Chicken
- Scrubs
- The Boondocks
- Community
- The Big Bang Theory (I religiously watch this one, even re-runs)
Books
If there was more time in the world, I would read more. And what I have read, I usually end up liking. Don't ever ask me if I like Twilight or its successors. I will smack you upside the head for speaking about such filth. My favorites include:
- The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
- The Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujour
- The Harry Potter series by J.K.Rowling
- The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld
- Animal Farm by George Orwell
- In the Pond and Waiting by Ha Jin
- Maus I & II by Art Speiglman (they're graphic novels, by the way)
- The Odyssey by Homer
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya by Nagaru Tanigawa
- Rocket Boys by Homer H. Hickam, Jr.
- The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
- V for Vendetta
Music
I've done experiments on myself and have discovered that if I don't listen to music every day, I get cranky. Yes, it's true. I love music to bits and pieces. My taste varies greatly, although, I can't stand country music, Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana shit, and the JoHoes... um The Jonas Brothers. They have waaaaaayyyy too many fangirls who annoy me everyday. Some of my favorite bands and artists in order:
- Gorillaz
- Daisuke Ono
- Less Than Jake
- Guns N' Roses
- Eyeshine
- Tokio Hotel
- UVERworld
- FLOW
- Bob Marley
- Evanescence
- Paramore
- The Offspring
- Beyonce
- Rihanna
- FAKE?
- Aya Hirano
- LM.C
- Big Bang
- 2NE1
- abingdon boys school
- Alphabeat
- Lady GaGa
Anime/Manga
Like I said earlier, I didn't really jump on the anime/manga scene until about the end of 7th grade/summer before 8th grade. I got my older brother into it as well, but my younger brother refuses to watch anything Japan-related, unless it's sports or some idiotic game show. Now, my older brother and I compete to see who has more hours of anime watched, and he's winning... but I have more hours of manga read than he does. However, I watch more anime than I read manga. It's a time-related thing.

My Top Ten Manga:

My Top Current Favorite Anime (these are either currently airing or I am in the midst of watching them):
Either or. I like them both the same, although, I am more inclined to watch a series dubbed if there is a dub out. I can appreciate all the hard work that goes into both versions of the series (being an actress myself). I can't stand it when people complain about dubs, "not being emotional enough" or " the voices don't fit. " You have no idea how hard it is to maintain the correct voice while matching the mouthflaps. And how do you know that the Japanese voices don't fit? Maybe they're the suckish ones and the English ones are better? Just because something comes first, doesn't make it better. And most of you wouldn't even be watching anime if it weren't for dubs. [/rant]
*cough* That aside, as long as I have a way to undertstand what's going on, I'll watch it.
I had no idea it was yaoi-ish. I was watching it based solely on the principle of him being able to feel peoples emotions and feelings through touch. I realized after watching the first ep its kinda weird, but ill stick with it for a bit. (i will NEVER be a yaoi fanboy). Oh and i finally convinced will to start watching death note.
