Yeah, there's not much you can do with politics. It was a little boring, but good acting by Gosling and Clooney, of course.
I haven't even heard of Paper Man.
Looks like I'll have to add that and Anonymous to my list of movies I should watch.
Oh shit. Chronicle's out already? Thanks for telling me. I need to get on that.
How was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy? I heard it was a very difficult and complex movie.
The only two movies I've seen recently since we last talked:
Reservoir Dogs(Yes, for the first time!) lol
Shame, starring Michael Fassbender
(Man, that was a tough movie to watch)
Big summer season of movies coming up:
Prometheus
Dark Knight Rises
Brave
New Spiderman
I may actually get off my ass and watch a movie in the theater for once.

That reminds me, I need to watch Hugo one of these days. And the Descendants. I chuckled a bit during 50/50, but that was about it. But yeah, good movie.
Lately, with the exception of anime, I've mostly been watching TV shows. Stuff on Netflix, like Downton Abbey and the new Sherlock mini-series. Haven't watched a movie in forever. I should get on that.
It's weird, seeing Sasuke like this. He was mentally unstable for a long time, and now he's acting like his old self. It's kind of jarring.

Thanks, but "almost" is not another 20 years.

I don't know. Takashi Miike films are usually hit or miss for me.
Thanks! Will add that to my ever-growing list!
Lately, I haven't watched anything. I'll probably get around to watching that new indie film, Detachment.
Seen anything good?

That reminds me! Make sure you watch Oldboy in Korean with subtitles. The dub ruins the movie. It's so bad.
...sorry for all the replies!

Thanks for the recommendations! I appreciate it. I'll have to check Netflix and/or Hulu for them.
The Warrior? I saw a movie called Warrior a few months back. It was with Tom Hardy(Inception, and he's playing Bane in the upcoming Batman film) and Nick Nolte. MMA fighing movie. Similar to The Wrestler and The Fighter. It was about a broken family, and two brother fighting each other in the ring, both having their own reasons for being there. I don't know if we're thinking of the same movie?
Unfortunately, I wasn't much of a fan of 13 Assassins. =(
I think I went in way too hyped.

Oldboy is amazing. Guy gets kidnapped and locked in an apartment for a long number of years, and one day is suddenly released, without knowing the reason for his kidnapping, and why he was eventually released. He goes on a mission to find out why, and of course, decides to seek out revenge. So many twists and turns, and the ending is insane. Quite the original revenge story in my opinion. You'll love it.
Me too. Kurosawa's library of movies is staggering. I haven't even put a dent in it. Hahaha!
The last movie of his I saw was Throne of Blood. Basically his version of Macbeth. Really good stuff as usual!
Having seen both the foreign film(a few years before the U.S. one), I can safely say this version was as dark and gruesome as the Swedish film. I'm a little wary when it comes to localizations, but as soon as I found out that David Fincher would be helming the film, I knew it would be in a good hands. He's always been one of my favorite directors.
...actually, I can't decide on whether or not I like the original or the U.S. version better. Both actresses were incredible too.
Drive! How did I forget to add that to my list? Great fucking movie. A shame it was snubbed by the Academy Awards this year. It didn't even win best sound mixing. The sound editing and soundtrack were phenomenal. I loved the throwback to 80s films - the pink, stylish font and everything. Haha.
On a side note, as a straight dude, I'm confortable enough to say this: I have a man-crush on Ryan Gosling. LMAO. Seriously, I want to be him.
He's been all over the place lately, and, as far as I'm concerned, he's one of the best actors working in the business. Have you seen Ides of March yet?

Speaking of korean films, have you seen Oldboy?
I've been wanting to see Attack the Block for quite some time. I'm sure it's so funny.
How was The Art of Getting By? I remember watching the trailer on my video on demand service. It looked interesting.
As usual, you have really good taste! =)
I've been recently getting into indie films myself. I like how they're so personal. You can relate to them much easier, you know?
Recent movies I've seen:
About a week ago, I watched an indie film on Netflix called Beautiful Boy. The movie basically revolves around two parents having to cope with the fact that their son walked into his college class and shot his fellow classmates. And all the guilt and blame that comes along with that. Really depressing movie, but powerful performances.
Besides that, I've been going through Akira Kurosawa's films, like Seven Samurai and other stuff. Amazing director.
Oh, yeah. I took my mom to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for her birthday. She's a fan of the books. :)
I like all genres I guess. lol
It was pretty depressing, yeah. I really liked the artstyle they went with. Very original.

Curious, but how was Gankutsuou? Ive not been able too finish it myself. It looked quite nice artistically, though I have too admit; I've been duped by aesthetically pleasing work before.
