To sum it up: It's nothing out of the ordinary, but an otherwise enjoyable watch over dinner, supper or a midnight snack. Wouldn't recommend binging it because the pacing is pretty slow, it might bore you out.

Slime 300 feels like a discount Maid Dragon at first, but Azusa carried the show pretty well. Considering this is the 5th anime of the studio, I'll say it did pretty well, but by no means is this a 10/10 AotS. It's just something you can watch if you're bored and just want to turn your brain off, and preferably not in an anime binging mood, because I'll recommend ... you something else like ID:Invaded instead.

To go with the usual format:
Story: 5/10
In simple terms, it's Azusa building her "harem", except she's a female MC building a house of female cast. While they're cute and enjoyable in their own right (I don't really find any of them annoying, even Halkara was tolerable tbh), the story is absolutely predictable. Almost every episode you have someone new introduced, and then has a conflict Azusa has to solve (for them), and then they join the family in the end, living together. Yep, that's it. The story is not what's supposed to be the highlight of the show anyway.

Do not expect to see Maid Dragon writing here despite being the same genre/type, because Maid Dragon actually has a background story and the growth of the dragons from being genocidal maniacs to cute little Kobayashi simps are well fleshed out.

Art: 8/10
Being a relatively new anime studio, the art is pretty good, and the animations do not have noticeable problems. Of course, considering Slime 300 is supposed to be carried by the wacky cast, they obviously have to draw them well, and they did just that. You may still find some of them being easily forgettable (more on that later) but that has nothing to do with the art.

Sound:6/10
I remember the music was decent, but then again I don't remember the music. Sounds like a weird way to describe it, but basically it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great enough to make me remember it or save it to my playlist as well.

Character: 6/10
For a show that depends on showcasing the interactions between the wacky cast, it did just that, especially for the first few episodes where Azusa slowly constructs her house. However, later on, there are just way too many characters, and it leads to the point where you might not remember some characters. For example, I personally think Beelzebub is quite memorable, but everyone else except Azusa was easily forgettable. Not that it stops you from enjoying the anime when you watch it, but it is, at the end of the day, just an anime for you to turn off your brains and waste your time on. It's a CGDCT series, don't expect too much from it aside from the characters being... well... cute.

Enjoyment: 7/10
I followed the anime when it was airing, so it was an enjoyable experience for me, although I must say I am not an anime connoisseur. I watch whatever interests me, and whatever manages to keep my interest. Slime 300 wasn't anything special nor some groundbreaking masterpiece, but it definitely was enjoyable while it lasted. I seriously think the anime will be a weak binge though.

Overall: 7/10
Nothing out of the ordinary, but not a bad watch either if you're looking to just laze around and chill, preferably with food, some snacks or Cola. In fact, it's probably something Umaru from Himouto will watch while eating junk food. It can be the onion rings to your pasta, but by no means is it a Michelin 3 star steak main course.

Before starting the review, I have to admit, I am neither an avid reviewer nor someone with high anime standards. I watch anything and enjoy basically anything, as long as they're enjoyable, even if the anime itself might be stupid. Heck, I can watch Steins;Gate one day and watch Kanojo mo Kanojo afterwards and laugh it off.

Tantei wa Mou Shindeiru however, is just plain hard to swallow.

I get that people enjoy or dislike anime for various reasons to each their own, such as being against harem, plot holes, deus ex machimas, OP MCs and whatnot...

...but I think everyone can agree that bad pacing ruins ... any anime. So is the case of Tantei wa Mou Shindeiru. The pacing is all over the place, it seems like they did a deck shuffle for all the episodes before actually deciding to air it.

To go with the standard format, please read as below. Minor spoilers up to the current episode may be present, but should probably not be a major issue, since the idea of this is to discourage you from actually spending your time on the anime anyways.

Story: 2/10
I have to say, the double-duration episode 1 did catch my eye. Mixing mundane daily life + some romcom elements into a mystery might be weird, but for someone who rates anime simply by personal enjoyment, it is still pretty enjoyable to watch the interaction between Siesta and Kimi in the cultural festival, even though the festival itself made no sense, and the whatever bad guy of the episode that I can't even remember anymore also made no sense. However, theres nonsensical anime such as Kanojo mo Kanojo which also made absolutely no sense, but is still an enjoyable watch if you turn your brains off.

However, being a detective mystery, you should've be expecting some actual suspense and mystery with comprehensible writing (despite the quirky elements thrown into it), but no, this anime decides to shower you with a random-af timeline that seriously felt like every episode was its own little story... except its a goddamn detective story, you are supposed to build suspense and connections between the episodes. (You have the monogatari series which made use of this concept pretty well, in comparison.)

In other words, if you treat this as a SoL romcom between Siesta and Kimi it might not be that bad, but even the damn title is marketed as a detective mystery. There's literally "Detective" and "dead" in the title, of course I'll be expecting some good old suspense and thriller, even though I wasn't expecting some ID:Invaded quality, it still severely fell through my expectations. What in the world is this jumbled mess?

Art: 7/10
I have to admit, the primary reason I've picked this anime up is because of Siesta's design, and I don't even like Date a Live despite the striking resemblance (pronounced as plagiarism) compared to Tobiichi Origami. The character art design was decent, but it is to be expected from an anime with Siesta as the poster girl. If the poster girl wasn't attractive, the anime will obviously fall flat before even airing, and I am sure the studio, despite being idiots with the scriptwriting, at least understood this.

The action scene does leave me a bitter taste, especially after watching episode 6 (the pseudo gundam vs Godzilla thing)... It almost felt like watching a ppt slideshow. I mean the animation wasn't that bad, but there is little to no choreography involved.

Sound: 5/10
Personally, I am pretty easy on my music requirements. (You have masterpieces like Vivy / ID:Invaded recently with spectacular music, by the way, so I wasn't expecting much). Nothing memorable, I generally skip the OP and ED, and there's no memorable insert songs, but that is not to say the music is bad. It just didn't catch my attention.

I am sure someone else might've liked the music, but I wasn't one of em.

Character: 4/10
The character design in terms of art is great, as mentioned above.

The character design in terms of scriptwriting though is plain weird. While Siesta and Kimi do have decent chemistry and Kimi feels refreshing being an MC who doesn't chase panties and can show (unnatural) intelligence in various moments, these are all thrown out of the window when you realise the MC isn't even 18 years old.

Why do you build the characters to behave like college students, dress like college students, talk like college students and then proceed to tell people they're not even 18? Why? So you can fantasise? Or was it just to make the episode 1 cultural festival make sense? Because it doesn't.

If you somehow think that isn't a big deal, imagine Steins;Gate, Death Note, Psycho Pass etc telling you the MC is 15 years old. Does that make sense to you?

If you want logic in the show, by all means, commit to it, otherwise, go for a fully wacky approach like Grand Blue or something. Don't half-ass it, it almost looks like you're creating anime on a part-time basis.

Enjoyment: 2/10
I really want to drop it, but I am just here on the ride curious to see how bad can it still turn out, because truth be told, as the weeks go by and each episode airs, every episode somehow manages to do worse than the previous episode, mainly in terms of pacing and writing coherence. I am episode 6 in and I seriously have no idea what is going on.

Once again, I am sure different people enjoy different anime, be it that you might like deep anime, wacky romcoms, ecchi harems, but seriously, Tantei wa Mou Shindeiru is none of them. It fits none of any known genre because it is just an incoherent mess. If there's a genre called "jumbled mess" and there's people who enjoy that, by all means, go for it, otherwise you'll probably be like me: Leave the anime playing in the background and do something else. Am I even considered someone who watches this anime at this point?

Overall: 2/10
While this season isn't wonderful by all means, I'll recommend you to try something else instead.
If you want some CGDCT SoL, go for Maid Dragon.
If you want some worldbuilding isekai, go for Slime or Realist Hero.
If you want some deep thriller stuff, try Vanitas.
If you want some drama, try Bokutachi no Remake.
If you just kinda want to turn your brains off, even Tsuki Michibiku fits the bill.

See the problem? Tantei wa mou Shindeiru doesn't fit anywhere, because you can't find any genre to slot a jumbled pile of nonsense into.

Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism (Bloody long ass name, gonna call it Busou for convenient reviewing) is an anime trying to combine and revolutionize the shounen action genre along with harem romance but fails miserably. However, it does manage to do a few stuffs right, even though trivial. The theme may seem catchy and innovative at first, but once dwelling into the show it eventually exposes itself as a self-repetitive formula that grows predictable really quickly.

Story (5/10)
The story starts off fairly cliche; A male character is thrusted forcibly into an all-girls high school... pretty sure I've seen this plot trope somewhere. (/s) Anyways, instead of starting off ... as a beta male indulging in the unrequited, unexplainable and unreasonable love from all the female cast out of nowhere (Basically all the old school harem genres), the MC, Nomura Fudou, is forced to take on the girls in an action-packed swordfight... only that the male MC uses "guns". Not sure how is that fair, but whatever. Even though the story did well differentiating from oldschool repetitive harems, viewers will soon realise the fact that it does in fact offer little to no difference to the newer magical school harem genres (Looking at you Rakudai and Akashic records etc), which is basically having the unbelievably badass main character beat the girls into submission. Are all the female cast masochists or something? Not to mention the formula is used several times, first on the mask girl, then the british trope girl, then a bear riding girl, then Satori (Sorry, shes the only girl I remember in this series) then the auto-counter girl. Everything repeats, not to mention the characters seemingly set up to die always ended up not dying in the end. Oh the suspense, but guess character death shouldn't be expected or else this anime will probably venture into a different genre altogether.

In short, unique setting, trashbag repetitive execution that disappoints and fails to use the setting into its full potential.

Characters (3/10)
Firstly we have Nomura, the badass main MC. Oh well, at least this is not some Yuuki Rito so at least hes plenty bearable, but the fact that he never even falters a single bit or breaks down shows little to no character development and character depth whatsoever. Then we have the mask girl, which I reckon to be of the generic tsundere trope present in almost every single anime in the recent years. No idea why she wears a mask all day since her actual face looks much better, but I guess its just a lazy effort to make the character more special? Of course we also have the british blonde, almost mistook it for the Cecilia something from Infinite Stratos since they're exactly alike and the creators literally made no effort to differentiate anyway. The bear riding girl is slightly more bearable since she does not show obvious feelings against Nomura and is plenty more badass than the first two female cast, but forgettable nonetheless. (Also what the hell is that fashion sense?) Then we have Satori who has at least decent depth as the reasons why she became "emotionless" and her past are at least explored and touched upon, not to mention she doesn't fit existing anime tropes. After that we have the twintail middle-school girl who is somehow in high-school (Hey its anime, logic doesn't apply here) and then we have the auto-counter girl who obsess with Nomura over a reason normal humans should not find as a reason to obsess over with, but guess hyperbole is the only way to go when the writers cannot think of a decent reason for her to go over the male MC.

Also, they introduced lots of side characters, but apart from the ugly ladyboy no one is even close to rememberable because they are fucking irrelevant anyway.

Art (7/10)
The fighting scenes doesn't really flop in animation, and the art are generally okay compared to recent animes so not much of an issue there. The detail in the twintail girl's eyes are nice to see at least.

Sound (5/10)
The opening theme is quite catchy, I've always find myself listening to the first part of the OP but right after the dedededededede sound finishes I skip to the main show anyway. ED is forgettable. I've not noticed any outstanding OSTs as well, but nothing unbearable.

Enjoyment (6/10)
Despite being a repetitive formula, the show still manages to bring me some enjoyment. Once you shut your brain off, ignore the details and the obvious predictions that this and that are going to happen (And it definitely does), at least the fighting scenes are quite enjoyable and the suspense brought to the brink of death of some characters kept me slightly on edge (BUT THEY DIDN'T DIE IN THE END WHAT A SURPRISE. COME ON.)

Overall (5/10)
In short, if you are expecting quality or innovative material / plot, look away. However if you are looking for something random and ridiculous to fill your time this can be an okay choice, considering its much more bearable compared to dirty copypasta harems like Hundred and the likes, but generally you shouldn't come in bearing expectations for anything spectacular.

Master Detective, NEET Ghost, Superpowers from items like what happens in Doraemon...

and a main male character WITH BRAINS. Oh not to mention the very interesting plot.

Ryuugajou Nana no Maizoukin is the first of its kind. I've never seen anything like this. This is just so unique that I am literally amazed. WAIT WHY IS THE SALES SO BAD FOR THIS WHATS WRONG WITH THE JAPANESE ANIMERIANS GIVING IT SUCH A COLD TREATMENT?!

Enough fanboying. Lets move on...

Story - 9/10
The story was detailed, considering they pushed a whole lot of plot into a 11-episode series. Not to mention why the fxck is it only 11 episodes when ... it should be longer. Story was unique, executed nicely and very interesting. However it is supposed to be a comedy, but the comedy part eventually tears off and this anime kind of became a mystery genre anime instead, with the comedy part heavily toned down to make way for the plot. If you are planning to look into comedy in the first place, you might be disappointed after a few episodes even though the first few episodes' comedy was great. However, if you enjoyed things such as Hyouka then you kind of got a treasure by deciding to watch Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin.

Another problem is that while the anime is listed as a Romance genre, it doesn't really contain anything romantic whatsover other than a few blushing scenes and so on. If you are looking into full romance, walk away.

Art - 10/10
The movement of the animation was really fluid and the character art design was great, everyone looked good, from the main characters to even the small casts such as the class monitor. What I am amazed about is firstly, everytime the cast encounters a "ruin", the animation quality changes from Ryuugajou level to Guilty Crown level. It definitely gives off a vibe that is like "Things are going to get serious now" and makes me wonder how much money did they used for each ruin scene. Another thing worth noting is that the male mc, namely Yama Juugo's design is not exaggerated to be like some badass or some handsome idolic character, he looks just what he needed to look like - normal.

Sound - 6/10
The sound was the weakest part of the anime, not that I can expect anything from 11 episodes anyway. But still, I've never even bothered to listen to the ED song and while the OP sounds catchy, it is probably easily forgotten in a few while. However Nanana's seiyu is awesome because she is only 17 years old yet she had the sound like Jibril from No Game No Life, probably even better. Be sure to look out for her work as she sounds real talented, at least to me.

Character - 11/10 Director's cut
Where'd the world would u find a male mc with a brain, badass but not overly badass to not be beaten at all (like Izayoi from Mondaiji) and actually has motives in his own mind instead of the boring old "I want to help because I am kind" male mc? Here you have Yama Jugou, someone who was disowned by his father and came to the island where everything happens in the anime. You see him as a comic relief character and typical at first with looks that is easily forgettable, but once you start watching it you will realize that he has a working mind unlike most mc nowadays yet is not as OP as the ones i've listed above. This is also the first time the male MC is not "all good" and instead has ulterior motives, although most of the part of the motive isn't bad either, he is really the first mc to be calculative, sneaky and can be wicked when he needs to be so. He may be badass when he needs to be, but he has a lot of weaknesses exploitable so that none of us will see him as OP (overpowered).

Next up master detective Tensai-sama is our main brain power besides Juugo. She has the minds of a Sherlock Holmes (and the hat too, LOL) yet she's also calculative and sneaky that unlike most female characters that would "lose their cool and sacrifice everything to save the male mc in trouble", she kept her cool and negotiated with the enemy to drive the enemy off using mindgames and to save the male mc at the same time, yet in the end you realize she is just bluffing without any way to win the enemy up front whatsover. That would be the point where you will be amazed by her intelligence and cool. Oh and she is really cute when she blushes (LOL)

Nanana had really good design and is very cute, but due to her low character development she is probably easily forgettable, sadly. She is the neutral and the "hint machine" in this treasure hunting contest, yet she stays neutral however good she and Juugo's relationship may be.

In short to conclude the characters: I've never seen these kind of perfectly-balanced characters in my whole anime life.

Enjoyment - 9/10
I've really enjoyed the ride on Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin, but theres a few things that i've looked for and are expecting but did not get them such as the romance between Juugo and Nanana/Tensai. Any of them is fine but I guess I need to use my imagination for this. Again if you are looking for romance, look away as you won't find a lot of it in this anime. However for character uniqueness and development, puzzle-solving. plot-twists and new strong anthologists that are not invincible yet strong to make you fear for the protagonists, look no further.
