On Crunchyroll. Bahaha! But that was only one person. That site is awesome. I can sit there hours at a time just watching shows. my name is xBianca. I'll request you right now. =]
crunchyroll.com <-- the site for asian dramas and anime. Haha. I was just wondering because If you did I'd want to add you to my new account. People have been so unfriendly. =[ lol.
Oh, Have you ever seen Dal Ja's Spring? I finally watched it.
You're very welcome. :) I really did enjoy both seasons (especially after the first season's ending! argh!), which kind of surprised me because I generally can't stand Victorian literature. But it was a nice change of pace from the usual fast-moving, violent, war-torn series I tend to watch. The ending disappointed me a little because I felt like "they fought so hard and went through all that to be together and they end up like THIS?" I think it was supposed to be a happy, storybook ending, but it felt lame.
Hey, no problem. I'm glad you're liking it! :) If you like the anime, you really should check out the manga, too. The story goes different places than the anime does and the ending is a lot better, imo.
No, I agree, it's hard to know how to feel about him/them because you don't know what happened to get them to this point. That feels like a really huge, glaring omission...I don't know if it's as effective to say "well, something happened" as it is to know what that something was.
Hey! I've been meaning to get back to you about it - probably should not have waited because I've no doubt forgotten a lot of what I wanted to say, but whatev.
First off, I really liked it - as expected the animation was wonderful and I think Shinkai is a master story-teller. I love the way he says things without saying things, if that makes any sense.
The first segment was really sweet, good introduction to the two of them and their relationship, gets you rooting for them right from the start.
The second segment I also liked, it's interesting to get to see a relationship from a 3rd party (and it was great when it was revealed that he wasn't actually sending her the texts, just writing them). I wondered what had happened between them, though, that they were writing to each other or keep in touch really anymore. If that was explored, I missed it. I felt bad for the new girl (I'm sorry, I can't remember any of their names now), but at the same time I couldn't bring myself to root for her, I kept hoping he would stop being so damn nice to her and hop on a train go see the other girl. :)
The third part was definitely the most jarring, probably because it was so short and disjointed compared to the other two. I didn't really like the singer, but the lyrics fit so it's forgivable, and who doesn't like a good montage? I thought it was interesting, though, that his whole life was basically on hold and he was the one caught in the past, whereas she had moved on and was living a new life and seemed really happy. I wonder if that has to do with whatever caused the rift between them, but I don't know.
The ending felt a little abrupt, probably because I was expecting to spend another 25 minutes with the story and only got - what? Ten? At the same time, though, what would it have been if it was the same length as the others? 25 minutes of him walking around, all sad, thinking that he saw her, hoping that he had? A really long song? No, I think the short finale fit pretty well: we know what each of them is doing, we can figure out where they'll go from there. We don't get our storybook romance ending, but it's good in its own way.
Well, hard to say, as you pointed out it was kind of an introduction episode, but the show sure has potential =),, Gonna be interesting to get to see the next episode ^^
I'll remember to talk to you about Karas when I get around watching it. Incredible fight scenes in a series is a hook. I'll look forward to watching it. Lol, it reminds me of watching some kung-fu movies -- I don't watch them for the plot, but to see the heroes kick ass. ^^
I've noticed Tekkon Kinkreet on your faves. I haven't heard of that series before, can you tell me more about it? ^_^ And I'm going to check Ohikkoshi as well, Samura is an awesome mangaka (BOTI is a fave).
