Yeah, I think the battle is being drawn out too much also, I hope it's completely done with this next episode and that it begins to go a bit faster. At least they're being accurate though, I'd rather have that then have the show end up like how Blue Exorcist ended up.
Yes, but it's fairly original to anime, not media in general. Also, I wouldn't fully judge an anime until it's actually completed. But yeah, I get what you mean. The "avatar" thing however is more of a trope than anything else, a plot device, not the plot itself. Like I said, it uses such tropes well unlike a lot of shounen try to do which is one thing I like about it. There are also a lot of things in the manga that made me like it more but obviously I won't spoil it as it hasn't occurred in the anime yet.
I've seen some of your comments around and I'm just slightly curious, what makes Shingeki not an original anime? I don't know any other anime with the same plot, unless you're referring to the cliches as Shingeki does have pkenty cliches but it uses them well. Cliches would fall under plot devices not the actual story though, the story in itself of mysterious, gigantic people causing humans to go almost extinct and into refuge and to later fight back seems fairly original to me. Not trying to insult though, just curious as to your opinion on it. Also, I enjoyed your review of Gargantia and I'm enjoying the show greatly.

You can try using animeultima.tv as an alternative streaming site. The quality there might be better since I moved on from anime freak to anime ultima as it was a lot better in terms of quality and updates

I really liked the slice and life / mecha combo , really refreshing, it reminds me of eureka seven it has the same vibe but with only 13 episodes :/
